FOLKS, I've got another announcement tonight: Tonight I want to PREMIERE the VERY FIRST EPISODE of my new podcast @BoxOfficeGROSS, a look back through the top 50 highest-grossing movies of 2005, a list that might make you say, "that's what we spent our money to go see? GROSS!"

Wanna date!? The squad reunites with friend of the pod Willow Catelyn Maclay to smoke super crack and discuss Gill's pick, FRANKENHOOKER (1990). Tune in to find out if we gave this film a NAY, OKAY, YAY, or SLAY! Available NOW on your favourite podcast app! 🌩️🧟‍♀️

Shout releasing 4Ks of Across 110th Street, Coffy, Hell Up In Harlem, Black Caesar, Truck Turner and Sheba Baby should absolutely be seen as major news, but Shout being Shout, are bungling it all up with this horrendously designed over-priced box. Shout continue to not get the point of box-sets.

Jeez, I could have watched like 4 and half Star Trek DS9 episodes instead of the Oscars. These shows are too long for me. This was my first time tuning in in about 6 years. I did it for Conan. Wish the show had had more Conan. Maybe I'll watch it again in another 6 years.

My local cinema never even played Anora. Looks like they might now lol. My cinema sucks so much.

The recurring Sandworm from Dune brings that classic 90s Late Night Conan vibe I was hoping for.

Watched The French Connection for my first time today (I know, right?). Of course, it ruled. Followed it up with French Connection II. I respect weird sequels, so I dug this (and Gene Hackman's performance is probably richer and more nuanced in the sequel). Popeye Doyle was a man called rage.

Icons only.

Tex Avery was born on this day in 1908, the greatest gag-centric director of short-form animation in the U.S. He basically created Bugs Bunny, and while future directors would soften his edges, never forget how desperate and psychotic Tex's Bugs was.

Mail day! Willow and I only discovered DR. CALIGARI 1989 last year when it was added to Shudder following Mondo's restoration. We watched it like 3 times last year. Obsessed with how good this movie it. It needs to be more widely known.

Name a scene from your childhood that ripped your heart out

Been sick for about 6 days or so. Taking another sick day from work. Gonna try and relax to Follow the Fleet (1935). Been trying to watch through all the Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers movies relying solely on TCM airings to DVR. This is my 5th one.

We want to hear your opinions on FRANKENHOOKER (1990)! Would you give it a NAY, OKAY, YAY or SLAY? There is 2 ways to do it: 1) Comment 2) Send a voice note to [email protected]

Shinya Tsukamoto-expert Tom Mes said on a new podcast that Tsukamoto was once approached to adapt the 3 novel in the Ring/Ringu series, Loop, into a film [circa 1999/2000 perhaps?]. That's wild. I hear those later books are truly bizarre. Loop ended up never getting adapted into any cinematic form.

To hell with it, you only live once. I'm putting 25 mini marshmallows in my hot chocolate and no one can stop me.

We love Calcifer. We love Calcifer always

Before Kermit, I had a cat named Calcifer. Also orange, also silly, but got sick and died young. This photo popped up on Memories today. He was a good boy.

Feeling somewhere on the cusp of Unwell today - could just be massive physical and mental exhaustion - so I took it easy, and snacked on takeout pizzas while watching Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. A fine day off. Just wish I wasn't feeling so weak.

Trying very hard to talk myself out of buying several old out-of-print animation history books on ebay until my money situation is a little better. Winter heating bills can go to hell.

Me after lifting reels all day

Beaker tries his hand at singing and the crowd is not receptive. Justice for Beaker.
