A gentle reminder that you can do something to make the world suck less for yourself and the people you care about:

Kilmar Armando Ábrego García. Keep him and his family front of mind. @markey.senate.gov @trahan.house.gov

Best thing about being in publishing: the whiplash switch from your favorite writers being unreachable Olympian gods of the past, to being people you know, whose struggles you know, who you know deserve so much more love than they get, and also who burn toast and constantly misplace their mugs

As someone directly affected by this, let me be clear: I'd rather lose my job because Harvard chose to fight than keep my job and see a generation of white supremacists parade its corpse around like a war trophy.

Obama got Bin Laden. rump can't even get Kilmar Garcia? Rump is so weak and ineffectual. What a loser!

🚀🚀

First time we’ve seen this in any poll in a long time.

Property values went up 43% in my town in the last year. That’s fucked up, folks.

Amazing that the government isn’t even collecting Trump’s tariffs, which means Americans are paying higher prices and the country isn’t even getting the tax revenue. Even for them, it’s unbelievable incompetence.

Do not obey

Statement: Nurses for America Stands in Solidarity with the American Public Health Association Executive Director’s call for the resignation of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy. Read their statement here: apha.org/news-and-med... @apha.org

“The Trump administration has ordered State Department employees to report on any instances of coworkers displaying ‘anti-Christian bias’ as part of its effort to implement a sweeping new order on supporting employees of Christian faith.”

*endless screaming in heart continues*

If you've been trying to convince your parents/grandparents/elders to call their senators and reps, this might be a good thing to tip them over the edge. (And find reps' info at: reps.fyi.)

The most important thing to know about DOGE: they’re stealing from the American people to fund tax cuts for the rich. That’s why I introduced the Delete DOGE Act to stop them.

Sigh

BREAKING — DOGE will descend upon Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) buildings tomorrow, an agency source tells me. FDIC is responsible for insuring all commercial/personal US bank accounts for up to $250k and regulating banks. Scary in light of Trump’s manipulation of markets this week.

The last time there was this much on-again off-again turmoil over tariffs in America, we revolted against the king over it — and won.

The Chinese went all in — jacking up their tariffs, selling Treasuries, probably threatening to pull back from today’s regularly scheduled auction of new Treasuries. And Donald Trump blinked. WEAKEST. PRESIDENT. EVER.

“This highly unusual step of directing armed law enforcement officers to the home of a former DoJ employee who has engaged in no misconduct, let alone criminal conduct, simply to deliver a letter, is both unprecedented and completely inappropriate.” www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

🤷‍♂️

War hero schools a chickenhawk.

To Senate Dems: NO UNANIMOUS CONSENTS

I’m so mad at myself. Why didn’t I think of this first? Just do it. I haven’t tried it yet, but the number is below.

Do you remember when I told you that your institutional repository was on a list for a future purge? And to save copies of everything in multiple places? It's time you prioritized that. Now.

Hey TEXANS, Get LOUD, get OUT, and demand change…👇 Like NOW!! ✨

The American Library Association and a union representing more than 42,000 cultural workers in the U.S. have filed a lawsuit contesting the Trump administration’s cuts to the federal agency that supports the nation’s libraries, arguing that the cuts are already causing “irreparable harm.”

ELECTION RESULT: A team of city council members in Rolla, Missouri, have been pushing anti-LGTB policies, including a ban on drag shows and book censorship. Voters just ousted all three of these city councilors who were running for reelection, backing candidates backed by a local LGBT group.

Please call your Senators. Especially if they are Republicans. They are cracking. Let's break them.

🚨 Schatz is apparently expanding his hold to more than 300 Trump nominees calling out Republican senators "who he said he thinks are privately panicked and frustrated, to publicly push back against the White House." This is what we love to see. Now, let's hope @schatz.bsky.social backs this up.

Fun fact: eight in ten married women have changed their surname which means they don’t have a birth certificate that matches their current legal name. Over 69 million women would have to get new IDs to vote under the SAVE Act. The GOP is trying to silence women across the country. #HandsOffHerVote

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

Keep protesting, keep organizing, keep building your networks. It's important you keep going, what you build today will save you tomorrow.

Sotomayor is right. According to this Supreme Court, the US can now kidnap, detain, and fly legal immigrants and citizens to a foreign country's prison, even if it's a whoopsie. America, people. Freedom and stuff.

I dunno guys, think I'm seeing a pattern here?
