I volunteered w/ Andrii in Bucha at a humanitarian aid center in June '22. Two months earlier, his brother had been murdered just like in this cartoon. He was shot in the back of the head by a Russian sniper despite displaying white flags. I shared the cartoon w/ Andrii today & here's his reply:

My friend's brother was executed in Bucha in March 2022 during the Russian occupation. Oleksiy was 39. He was riding his bicycle marked w/ white civilian flags. He was going to the center city to say goodbye to his friends who were evacuating. A Russian sniper shot him in the back of the head.

My friend in Bucha had a 39 year old brother who was executed by a Russian sniper during the occupation. He was hit in the back of the head while riding his bicycle to the city center to say goodbye to his friends who were evacuating. He displayed white flags to signify his was civilian.
