So now the Trump White House is doing CCP-style televised forced confessions.

If it weren’t so tragic, Zelensky has an opportunity to do the funniest thing possible: Announce an investigation of Joe Biden and demand a resumption of aid.

If this were my pitch to farmers I wouldn’t be shrinking their customer base by deporting millions of mouths. But that’s just me.

Republicans said TikTok was a national security threat under Chinese control. But six weeks since deadline, TikTok remains operating (illegally) under Chinese ownership, and they do nothing. Why is GOP leaving Americans vulnerable to (what they say is) a threat?

The entire GOP narrative over China/COVID was that that Chinese govt was covering up information on how many deaths were caused by govt mistakes, and then punishing whistleblowers who reported facts - and that this was bad. Now Rubio is using that same CCP playbook to cover up aid freeze facts.

Spot the difference?

What Marco Rubio says: "I am pro-life. I am proud to be pro-life" What Marco Rubio does when there's not a microphone around:

you'd think Marco and Elon would be proud of how many people they're condemning to needless death. Elon bragged about how he put the agency "into the wood chipper". why so bashful now?

Yet another way that Trump is governing like the CCP governs China.

There was a time (very recently!) when Congressional Republicans would attack U.S. business interests in China as "complicity with tyranny." That time is ended, as they now prefer the taste of Musk's toes to maintaining a 'tough on China' approach. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/02/w...

The “pro-life” movement was never about saving lives. It is about WHO gets to control them.

ICYMI

Both Trump and the CCP know that language can be weaponized as a tool of majoritarian control to assert dominance over ethnic minorities by smothering their identity and agency.

Just because Rubio knows the taste of Trump’s toes does not mean that leaders of sovereign countries need to as well.

What we’ve learned: the volume of GOP ranting about malign CCP influence is directly proportional to their willingness to abet malign CCP influence.

Can confirm. Former USAID here, and I’ve been approached twice in the last 30 days.

I've heard that, under Rubio's order, State has terminated funding through USAID that had helped Tibetans "promote their distinct cultural, linguistic, and religious heritage." So before you praise Rubio's nice-sounding words, please note that through his actions Rubio is undercutting Tibetans.

Actually. no. None of us are wondering. We know exactly how you got there.

Dear Volodymyr Zelenskyy, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone.

It's all part of one coordinated plan.

When I voted for Trump, I never thought he would fire me from my federal job, force my parents off Medicaid, let my sister die in an airplane crash, and make my child suffer from measles. Here's why I will enthusiastically vote for Trump for a third term. -- median Trump voter

The 80-year cycle theory certainly is bearing out: 1787-1865 1865-1945 1945-2024

of course he is.

Funny how the GOP’s every-Chinese-national-is-a-potential-spy reflex doesn’t kick in when a Chinese national is lining Dear Leader Trump’s pockets.

If a PRC mole inside the USG were implementing a plan to reduce U.S. influence to China’s advantage, how would it look any different from what Rubio is doing? www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Why should any other government take Secretary Rubio seriously when he talks about upholding rule of law when Rubio himself is ignoring court rulings in his own country?

This is a normal statement. But put in context, it’s bullshit. It demands China respect int’l human right treaties as Trump/Rubio work to undermine them. It slams Thailand for deporting people when USG is doing the same. Uyghurs suffer because Trump undercuts morality on which their cause is based.

💯

This is tragic. So is the timing. After 10 years, why did Thai govt pick this moment to send Uyghurs back to China? Likely they calculated they'd suffer no consequences for deportation from a USG under under pro-deportation Trump. And win favor from Beijing as US cedes its influence in region.

So what. GOP enacts huge Medicaid cuts. People lose health care. Dems make it an election issue. But GOPers say that the Dems are the ones who cut Medicaid, repeated by Fox News and Musk/X. GOP promises to save Medicaid, and voters reward them. What the fuck does anything we say matter any more?

Folks praising removal of some words from State's webpage as a signal that Trump is good for Taiwan are severely ignoring the forest for the trees (and they know it). THIS is the worry, THIS is the ballgame. They need to push back on Trump and stop accepting the crumbs his minions dole out.

Trump leaves the door open to China taking Taiwan by force
