Getting Started

I edited How High during lockdown and through the deaths of both of my father and grandmother. That book (and oddly virtual reality fishing) was the only thing keeping me together. Writing through chaos gave me a conduit to “talk to” and puzzle together a future when I was otherwise silent.

Every time you don't buy a book from Amazon, but use a good indie store who actually values the sale & treats you & your purchase with respect, the sun shines brighter, floofy puppies gambol in fresher grass, & Jeff Bezos's piles sting for just a biiiit longer. Sounds GREAT to me. Buy independent.

Happy Thanksgiving!

So, with everything going on in the world, especially lately, do other artists, writers, and creative people find it hard to focus on your work? How do you tune out the noise? I’d love to hear how others are doing it! (I’ve not been able to so far!)

Seeing so many wonderful introductions here. More about me: Currently revising a draft of my literary horror novel. Serve on the board of Artists Book House, a book arts nonprofit. Edited novels for indie presses & individuals. Taught writing classes. Digital marketing/editing is my day job.

Evergreen…

Like many others, I migrated here from The Other Place. I’m a fiction writer, editor & teacher based in N. Illinois/Chicago and looking to connect with other writers, artists, creators, and decent people.

Well, I’m here now! Hoping to make friends and keep myself adequately distracted in the midst of the impending chaos 😬😀
