These pictures were taken two years ago today. This morning the Oystercatchers were flying but the Tree Sparrow is a different story. The people at the farmhouse with the feeder sold up, and the new people don't feed. I've not seen a Tree Sparrow since 🙁

Additional costs (27% rise in import fees) for UK importers. A prime example of how Brexit costs are passed to UK importers who cannot absorb them and will be forced to pass them onto consumers. www.fpcfreshtalkdaily.co.uk/post/jenney-...

Word of the day is ‘cumber-world’ (14th century): a person or thing that encumbers the planet.

@mole-hills.bsky.social Today's work of art, showing the sheer determination of Cheshire moles.

JD Vance’s Munich Security Conference speech has gone down well…in Moscow. Komsomolskaya Pravda headline: “Humiliated Europe out for the count. Its American master flogged its old vassals.”

Life, death and disease in the Middle Ages - in paperback!

Molehills without number...

What’s the latest from Munich?

AP are exactly right. The DerryLondonderry bullshit is a test. If he can legislate to require journalists to play along with this, he can legislate to have them report that up is down and black is white, too.

Gulls behind the house again today. I think they were all either Lesser black Backed, Black-headed and Common. There is one I am not sure about, the one pale one with the LBB in the first photo. I have decided that Common Gulls are the prettiest Gull! #ukbirding

Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science! www.un.org/en/observanc...

Intriguing thread.

This might be my favourite photo that I have taken. Our beautiful Mere with our lovely church, where I am lucky enough to bell ring, and of course one of the loves of my life Gravy!!😅🥰

So the MD of M&S Food never understood & still does not understand what UK (Brexit) asked for? On "is still painfully slow" ("higher cost & reduced choice") this is price of trading across regulatory & customs borders between DIFFERENT legally regulated & customs territories 1/6

Hi from Damascus. Fascinating interview for podcast with fighter turned president of Syria Ahmed al-Sharaa. We discuss on @therestpolitics.bsky.social tomorrow and full interview on LEADING on Monday. A few fabulous trees thrown in. Pic 2 Tree of the Day. 100 years old according to the man at base

Officially scrapping the Rwanda scheme is a triumph for human dignity, compassion, and justice. No country as repressive as Rwanda can be considered safe. And no country should farm out its responsibilities to genuine asylum claimants to a third country. humanists.uk/2025/02/03/h...
