no offense if you're a US journalist doing good work but part of how we got here is the sheer number of US journalists with pudding for brains and zero coherent principles who believe friendly access to the rich and powerful is the highest of values

Look, I donā€™t actually give a shit if you tell me somebody is or ever has been a member of a ā€œgangā€ called #MS13. Thereā€™s a gang called #GOP47 destroying the entire country from the inside right now, and most of the people afraid of tattoos are perfectly happy to ā€œwait and seeā€ about that one.

translation for those who donā€™t speak the white oligarch South African dialect: ā€œwe need to send ex-government employees who wouldnā€™t eagerly tongue-bathe our taints to labor prisonsā€

"The left went too far" in contemporary U.S. politics is almost always a lie and a very convenient way to rationalize moral failure. For example, "MeToo went too far" replaces "I do not care about sexual violence or its victims and I don't want to have to even feel bad about that"

Oh. Ok. This is all fine.

Good morning, America: how is your nervous breakdown going?

America yearns for other peopleā€˜s children to go into the mines

I wonder how many people who were absolutely shocked when protestors dared to demand the abolishment of ICE now understand that it was always going to be aimed at the rest of us. They stood by an authoritarian force, and now that force is disappearing people off the street. Good job moderates.

I remember Watergate. I was just a kid, but...I was a news freak even then. I watched Cronkite every night with my parents. Compared to this...the '70s weren't jack sh*t; I have very fond memories of life in America then. 2025 is equal to winning a sack full of assholes and a poke in the eye.

Between Brazil and 12 monkeys, Iā€™m starting to think Terry Gilliam is some kind of prophet. Man, he saw a lot coming.
