Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Another interesting paper that strengthens the “pathological normalcy” thesis.

Vance: "Which regime in the world has civil nuclear power and enrichment without having a nuclear weapon? The answer is - no one." Germany, Netherlands, Brazil and Japan all have civil nuclear power and the ability to enrich uranium. None have nuclear weapons.

This is actually a decent read from @owenjones.bsky.social but FFS such a shit headline. Greens/Zack aren't becoming 'Reform style' in any sense at all and the struggle for the Greens to cut through is mainly because the media continue to amplify Farage/Reform www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Yet more fantastic and thought provoking writing from @ckweatherill.bsky.social. Researching climate change/sustainability and flying to conferences are incompatible for me. It's hard to square with a potential future academic career though. One of my favourite sections in the screenshot 🔥

Tony Blair in 'being a wanker' shocker

Israel is a fascist genocide state

For me, he best political voice on the left in the UK currently. The shit that the media did to Corbyn, it's going to go into overdrive targeting @zackpolanski.bsky.social We need fight back against that ✊

Mainstream radio presenters like Vanessa Feltz are perfectly happy to contribute, in their own small way, to the rise of the extreme far right. Her interview with me on LBC just now was chock full of lies. Calls herself a journalist. Really I wonder how they sleep at night.

Fascism and it's moral panic in action.

I recently read Silent Coup by Clare Provost and Matt Kennard. In it they talk about how corporations subvert democracy in various ways. One of which was private cities or special economic zones. Unsurprising to see the technofascist in chief getting involved. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

I found this article from @aurelmondon.bsky.social really interesting. Really accessible overview of the situation we now face and far better than just sifting through the endless MRP's that lots of people post.

This is a BIG decision, which will undoubtedly get a legal follow-up. It allows not only state surveillance but could also hinder the growing normalization, as public sector employees cannot be members of “extreme right” organizations.

An excellent thread involving two of the coolest people that I've met during my PhD thus far. @veronicaawhite.bsky.social is doing such an inspirational project.

Sat in a beer garden reading some MMT...good first chapter. Picture is a reminder that I just don't have the aesthetic to become a leftie book influencer type!

Spot on by @jasonhickel.bsky.social. I've been chatting a lot about class and sustainability recently. For me, it's imperative that we tackle the climate and ecological crisis by dismantling capitalism. To do that, we need to reignite working class socialist movements and political organising.
