I don't believe in Hell, but if I did I would die happy knowing there was a special seating section for anyone currently railing against "the sin of empathy," and every one of those seats is made with hot rusty barbs

if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

So, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) is being replaced with WUL (White, Unqualified but Loyal)

The president can veto or support legislation. He can make recommendations to Congress. But he doesn't have the unilateral right to change laws. Trump has very little respect for the rule of law & our Constitution. He is moving us toward authoritarianism. We must stop him.

Here’s something, anyway

Would love to understand why every Democrat is not out there every second of the day explaining in plain English that Donald Trump has declared war on cancer patients.

Saw a "Democratic strategist" say "we have to earn people's trust back." Just mind-boggling that so many don't understand how this works. Did voters in 2024 say "I trust the Republican Party"? No. They were mad at those in power. Democrats have to get them mad at Republicans. It's not complicated.

Feels like we may have just had an earthquake here (northern MA).

I’ve voted for Democrats straight down the ballot since the early 90s, and I’ll do it again in the upcoming midterms (everyone except Seth Moulton), but what I want to know right now is where are they and when are they going to start speaking up?

Every day it becomes clearer that buying groceries and cooking groceries are two completely separate disciplines

Word of the Day is ‘uhtcearu’ [ucht-kay-aru, with the 'ch' as in the Scottish ‘loch']: Old English for ‘the sorrow before dawn', when you lie awake in the darkness and worries crowd your mind.

“On #ThisDayInHistory in 2021, thousands of peaceful grandmothers gathered in Washington, D.C., to take a self-guided, albeit unauthorized, tour of the U.S. Capitol building,” Collins wrote in a post on X.

Ever since the election, I've been dreading 2025. But now that it's about to happen, I'm ready for it. Bring it on, bitches. I'm not going down without a fight.

Hmm can we workshop the name please? They’re going to be bullied by the skibidi kids

Wondering if anyone else has been affected by any of the issues in Kafka's The Metamorphosis? At the moment I'm just putting out feelers.

Yes, Googling new slang might make you feel a little old, but googling new slang and *still* not understanding it is terrifying on a whole new existential level

ME: idk I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread WAITER: no I meant are you okay as in like do you need more Diet Coke or anything

Let’s reduce literature to a few pat lessons

I understand there is some discourse currently going on about "clout" here on Bluesky and while I can understand why people can be focused on it and how to achieve it I must tell you my entire posting strategy is and always has been "This was in just in my brain and now it is your problem too"
