Yup. It's what you do with the beads once you make them! But the potential has been there for 36,000 years.

So likely earlier peoples had less need for purpose built toys. Shaping a piece of wood, to any old form is always a joy 😀

But sorry if I wasn't helpful, which I was trying to be. Certainly not trying claim anything about modern beads. Having had severe brain damage a few years ago, though, I can assure you that the natural environment with leaves, stones, swirling eddies and wind in the trees is a source of Zen calming

Well, I have one legitimate reference for a bead factory, and for me, the tactile aspect of beads is a primary positive benefit of beads. I would think that any ancient "we don't know what this was but it might be ancient fidget spinner" theories are probably less reliable than my lived experience.

Surely any beads count. We all play with beads. First bead factory 36,000 years ago in France from memory.. book Secrets of the Stone Age c2000..from memory!

Dear Dave, so sorry to learn of your issues! (I have to plough through the marking of the outputs)

Alternatively you can think for yourself and grow your brain power. ChatGPT will get you a slightly below average mark. Maybe that's how you view yourself, but consider that you could do better.

I believe, (but check) that this is quite tasty, unlike the shaggy parasol which is not. No serious liver collapse or psychedelic experiences.

No apologies required.. I've watched the rise of T the younger since his spliff riddled student union rep days... although he's probably deleted that stuff now. Keep on slagging!

So I look myself up and the first thing I find is you calling me a fool. Tom Harwood (the younger and infinitely more foolish and utterly unrelated) is the bane of my life! With you all the way...
