Some talk of how disability benefits should be taken away from those with mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression, and a focus placed on those with physical disabilities. Unclear how these proposed changes would affect those with conditions such as ASD or ADHD.

Many thanks to the Health Secretary for taking the time to talk to me this evening. I thanked him for his commitment to rebuild all hospitals affected by RAAC!

Great to join Labour East for their regional conference in Southend today. With our brilliant @teamlabouruk.bsky.social MPs in the region, this Labour government will deliver on the promise of change. (πŸ“Έ @tomhowardasd.bsky.social)

Just arrived at Southend for Regional Conference. Excited to hear from Darren Jones and Bridget Phillipson and to connect with others from across the East of England! 😊

The DWP, under the Tory government, launched this consultation in 2023. Following a long legal battle, the High Court has found the consultation 'misleading and unfair' and ultimately unlawful. #DisabilityRights www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. neurodiversity training should be mandatory in all educational institutions - from primary school to university!

Now organising my 7th commumity film screening for February 2025. This started as a one-off event and has since grown into regular screenings and even led to me founding my own Community Interest Company (CIC). Here I am with some of our amazing volunteers!

When you need to upgrade a junction on your model railway, but you want it to be as realistic as possible, so you give yourself 7-10 years and loads of bureaucracy..

Serious allegations against a former police officer, including misuse of internal systems, sharing arrest details, and filming bodycam footage, highlight the urgent need for accountability and trust in our policing system. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I am truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Autism Hero Awards 2024/25. Thank you so much to the organisers for this recognition. I am looking forward to the awards night on 15th March 2025! Many congratulations to all other finalists! πŸ₯³

So, for a split second last night, I featured on ITV News - not regional but national news! #LifeGoals

Recently, I visited Gatehouse and was truly inspired by their incredible work supporting vulnerable people across Bury St Edmunds. From the Foodbank to the Homestore, their impact is profound. I’m proud to make a donation to support their vital efforts in the run up to Christmas. #BuryStEdmunds

This year has been full of highs and lows, and I often give far too much attention to low points. So, I decided to take some time to reflect on the positive things that have happened to me in 2024. I really enjoy my community projects, and I hope to do many more in 2025! πŸ₯³

Just been reelected as Disability Officer for my CLP, and my first action was to affiliate our CLP with Disability Labour. The motion passed unanimously! πŸ₯³

Regardless of your stance, I think we can all agree that it was refreshing to have a thoughtful and open debate today in the Commons. Some have said this is due to MPs having a free vote and that more free votes are needed! #AssistedDyingBill

It was really nice to meet Sir Lyndsay Hoyle today at the Parliament Fair in Portcullis House! 😊

Understanding autism starts with education. Mandatory neurodiversity training in schools and workplaces is essential to create a society where autistic voices are heard, valued, and supported. #AutismAcceptance #Neurodiversity

Disability rights are human rights. In the UK, disabled people still fight for basics: transport, education, fair work, and healthcare access. Let's unite for better policies, accessibility, and accountability. Everyone deserves equal opportunities. #DisabilityRights

What do you think needs to be done to address the SEND crisis in the UK? πŸ€” #SEND #Education #UK

Education should empower every child, but for too many children with SEND, the system falls short. We need real reform - ensuring timely support, accountability, and resources that meet each child’s unique needs. Let’s build an education system where SEND support is robust and reliable. #SEND

If you're left leaning, then please feel free to connect. It'll be good to connect with more like-minded people! 😊

Just donated some items to a local cleaner after she found an abandoned rabbit at an end of tenancy cleaning job. The rabbit had no food or water and had been locked in a hutch. Thankfully, this lady is taking care of the little bunny, and it will soon be in a home, hopefully with a loving family! 😊
