Very impressive spatial work on this preprint to discover the immunometabolomic landscape of tuberculosis granulomas in tissues from NHP and humans and an excellent thread to make it accessible!

Interesting philosophical question because may also be applicable to other live attenuated vaccines (for which experimental IV vaccinations have not been tried / needed). #IDSky #ImmunoSky #TBSky academic.oup.com/jid/advance-...

Stopping clinical trials with such haste is unethical and potentially dangerous and violates the very principles that all who conduct interventional studies must adhere to. It is sad and exposes ignorance and a complete lack of respect for people!

“USAID-backed studies have been shuttered, data streams have dried up, researchers and technical staff have been fired or put on leave, a system to predict food crises has been muzzled, and a USAID-supported global health journal has stopped reviewing manuscripts.” From our @science.org news team 🧪

Medical journal editors must resist CDC order and anti-gender ideology www.bmj.com/content/388/...

BREAKING NEWS: CDC orders mass retraction and revision of submitted research across all science and medicine journals. Banned terms must be scrubbed. Goes beyond MMWR +other CDC pubs. Applies to research already submitted to top medical journals. Take a look. open.substack.com/pub/insideme...

Kansas #tuberculosis outbreak is now America's largest in recorded history. There were 51 #TB cases in the state in 2023, 109 in 2024 and 1 so far this year, by Jason Alatidd www.cjonline.com/story/news/p... via @cjonline.bsky.social @infectiousdz.bsky.social

It’s #CervicalCancer awareness month! The #HPV vaccine is highly effective. It can prevent 9 in 10 cases of the most high-risk strains of human papillomavirus (HPV) – the #1 cause of cervical cancer.

Friendly reminder that tuberculosis isn’t an “1800s disease” and is in fact THE infectious disease that kills the most people in the 21st century. It is preventable, treatable, and curable, and yet it still kills over 1.2 million people a year because we don’t put the resources where the disease is.
