NSC was voor haar legitimiteit afhankelijk van één persoon. Nu Omtzigt weg is heeft NSC nul mandaat. Een ander "boegbeeld" gaat daar niets aan veranderen.

Vorig jaar (!) februari noemde 't kabinet een Israëlische aanval op Rafah een ‘rode lijn.' Ondertussen is het aangevallen, verwoest, en nu zelfs ingenomen, en nog altijd doet dit kabinet helemaal f*cking niets anders dan wegkijken en mensen die hiertegen protesteren criminaliseren.

Interesting factoid from Paul Kennedy's The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers: from 1815-1865 UK military spending as a share of GNP was about 2 to 3 percent. Remarkable bit of policy consistency and coincidence with the NATO defense expenditure guideline really.
