Local landowner has really done it this time. This ROW always blocked or obstructed. This time actually barbed wire on the padlocked gate. What can I do about it?

This sums up how a lot of us feel. I’m Gen X so I was crazy for the computer, for what it could do. I worked as a computer journalist a few times. I love games and tech and all that stuff. Where we are now isn’t that. This is the worst kids in the world being allowed to be their very worst selves.

About time I wrote a new article to replace that postie one

I made a new Insta account two years ago with the handle Instagram.com/tom.thread intending to use Threads but I don't use Threads. Welcoming ideas for a better Instagram username. (Formerly it was tomverse dot UK)

Return your (McD's/Greggs/Costa etc) cup and get 5p. The latest idea from Cardiff council to reduce litter. Lads I don't even pick up 5p if I see one on the ground these days.

Time to clarify something. When authors say “Unbound haven’t paid me” that makes it sound like Unbound had some money, which they used to buy authors’ writing. Unbound had no money. The authors did: we had raised that money. They were holding it in trust. Unbound stole our money.

Trying to have a balanced approach to social media (Bluesky and Instagram rotting my brain in different but equal ways)

Cheap apple juice tastes better than expensive apple juice. Expensive orange juice tastes better than cheap orange juice.

In "Doonesbury," Andy Lippincott died 35 years ago, on May 24, 1990. Andy was not only the first openly gay character in newspaper comics but also the first one to die of AIDS. Here is that strip and the ensuing sequence:

Ramsgate Marina Art Deco, Seawater Pool, opened in 1935 and closed in 1975. It is now a car park!

I’m the guy who invents new bathroom faucet designs for every hotel. You might know me from Knob That Goes The Other Way and Joystick That’s Hard To Turn Off. Lately I’ve been lacking inspiration, even thinking about hanging it up. I’ve had a good run, but — wait, never mind: Ball You Turn Diagonal

My plans for a major retail emporium are being threatend by wholesalers who won't let me steal the stock.

"Authors await overdue payments as publisher Unbound goes into administration" Readers who paid into crowdfunders for yet-to-be-published books will lose their money. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/m...

Still no payment from my ex-publisher, so I'm selling a few more of these (bought from their warehouse). ALL FOUR of these, signed, for the price of the 1983 hardback (£16.99) plus postage Please email me at [email protected] with your address if you want them. Any shares of this much-appreciated!

Very sudden advert at end of latest @blindboyboatclub.bsky.social after an hour on kneecap, Palestine and manufacturing consent... "since when did pride in your country become prejudice? The Telegraph. We speak your mind." 😂 THE TELEGRAPH

Wonderfully relaxing. Beside the seaside - Bird's Eye View Originally transmitted 1969 www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

@thefence.bsky.social Loving ish 23. One for Off The Fence perhaps; any readers have any similar videos of someone almost ranting but in an enthusiastic way? "Enthusiastic reminiscing" perhaps? www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG2J...

How To Get Ahead In Advertising is easily as good as Withnail and I but somehow totally overlooked. Robinson/Grant pairing really worked.

please don't do this. we all know AI sucks. we don't have to make it burn however much resources just for a goof. you can use udm14.org if you want to search Google with no AI, or you can pick a different search engine that doesn't have AI or has the option to turn it off. I like Ecosia & Duckduckgo

Book giveaway! Jack Cornish of @ramblers.org.uk has written this beautiful book. There's a flavour in the article he wrote us here: buildstories.slowways.org/pilgrims-rad... Fancy winning a copy? Just repost and comment below and we'll pick five people at random. @michaeljbooks.bsky.social

Looking for some funny people to follow on bluesky The type that would post weird non-jokes with a favstar link back in the day Are they still posting?

Cycling UK's rising sun/cog motif rebrand looks like a life insurance company for over 50s.

Insta Vs reality.

Watched the AMAZING improv show Kool Story Bro at Sherman Theatre last night. HOW DO THEY DO IT? Just literally making something out of nothing!

Happy New Pulp Day

I've just been thinking about these - Bristol has funded changing non-junction lights to green immediately for pedestrians rather than making them wait for cars 1/4 of a mile away (which is what most towns and cities do). Well done to my Bristol Green colleagues like @cllremmaedwards.bsky.social
