Great weekly from @oxfordclarion.bsky.social but I think that if someone is arrested, goes to hospital then goes into police custody (re 21 year old driving into flats on St Aldates) they are discharged from hospital rather than released aren't they?

www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/driving... I wonder how many of the nearly 30,000 killed or seriously injured (of which over 1600 died) were caused by cyclists...

How can stuff from 1995 be in a museum? Surely that's just wrong. It was only a couple of years ago wasn't it?

Double yellow lines? “Nah, don’t worry about it” A segregated bike lane? “Nah, don’t worry about it” These dockless vehicles are out of control. Local councils should ban these motor cars from the roads until owners can be trusted to only use the designated parking bays

How it was and how it should be. Tying the red emergency cord up like this can be life-threatening for a mobility impaired person who has fallen and cannot get up from the floor. Don't do it!

Two of us went from Oxford to Coventry and back with our bikes yesterday, with a ticket split at Banbury. Without bikes the ticketing and seat reservations would have been all digital. With them we got more than half a deck of playing cards (28 items)! @crosscountryuk.bsky.social

Why oh why has @cycloxoxford.bsky.social moved to a ridiculous membership renewal system that requires people to click a link to pay? It's a sure way to encourage more people to fall for phishing attacks and to lose members because they miss the renewal email. Default should not be losing members.

From a survey I've been sent. You can't actually select more than one, and several of the entries there are denominations, not religions! Absolutely no sign of a privacy statement either! "Do you identify with any of the following religions? (Select all/any that apply.)"

Bloody cyclists. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

So lovely to see all this fresh produce today in Gloucester Green Market. Especially lovely in the warm April sun.

Fantastic work by @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social sorting this out. I told the pigeons not to go for a curry!

Sunny frosty morning in Cowley Marsh

The far right opposes science because the far right's views are not based on reliable evidence, they are based on emotions, conspiracy theories, and disinformation. Science is the trusted gatekeeper for facts and logic, so it is de facto the enemy.

I hope the person is OK. The Oxford Fail would never, ever, say "...knocked over by driver...". Blatant clickbait designed to get the cyclist-hating knuckle-draggers going in the comments. Pathetic.

Seems to be a lot of frog action in our pond this year!

Nothing good will come of making a martyr of this person. BBC News - www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw... French far-right leader Marine Le Pen barred from running for public office for five years - BBC News

What an absolute joy to sing at @morethanadodo.bsky.social with @oxfordchoir.org

Anyone know what all that noise coming from St Giles direction is?

This closes on Monday. An application to write over the weekend?

On the occasion of me becoming a year older there will be a few drinks at the Marsh Harrier on Wednesday 19th March at 8pm. Would be lovely to see you!

Durham by night is incredibly beautiful. Have a fab weekend. Evensong wasn't too bad either!

Signs of spring in Durham. We're signing at the cathedral this weekend. Evensong at 5.30pm today and 3.30pm tomorrow. Choral Eucharist at 10am tomorrow too.

Fancy coming to work for me in @ox.ac.uk ? my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecru... This isn't just any Cyber. It's Oxford Uni Cyber!

You know you're early to work at @ox.ac.uk when the bike racks are like this!

Blue sky on Bluesky 🌞 Taken by me around noon on 18 Feb 2025

Are you proud of this Oxford Labour? I'm horrified. Trying to out green the Greens is one thing but this is utterly disgusting.

This is deeply concerning and distressing. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I always say this but this will be an amazing concert by @cityoxfordchoir.bsky.social, that I've been singing with for 25 years this year. 3 brand new pieces and some classic bangers among the dinosaurs too. Tickets at oumnh.ox.ac.uk/event/city-o... It's a Friday so why not come after work?

This is fabulous news for cycling to Abingdon from Kennington/Oxford. Thanks to @oxfordclarion.bsky.social for pointing it out and to @nathanley.com for the video www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jrem...

I wonder how the governments "AI strategy" of just handing over billions to the tech bros for a load of old useless shite will change because of deepseek?

Come and hear me with @cityoxfordchoir.bsky.social at @morethanadodo.bsky.social on 28 March in our Ground-breaking concert where will perform three brand new pieces of music composed just for us! Come and hear us, meet the dinosaurs and hear some other classics too. oumnh.ox.ac.uk/event/city-o...

First Friday pint smiles with @gordonwoods.bsky.social at our fab local, The Marsh Harrier.

This is always tons of fun and the food is delicious. Join me?

In the midst of the current furore, an excellent piece from @roberthutton.co.uk reminding us that the 🇬🇧 system of public inquiries is fundamentally useless The role of inquiries in UK public life is little more than to allow people to make a point by calling for one thecritic.co.uk/no-more-bloo...

Happy Christmas! I'm leading worship at @saintcolumbas.org at 1045 and you're welcome to join us in person or at youtube.com/@stcurcox

Really looking forward to this later today. Who's coming? Beer and Carols at 5.30pm at the Marsh Harrier on Marsh Road in Cowley.

Dramatic Oxford sunset today. Let's hope there will be some overly pleased ewe carers tomorrow.

Kemi Badenoch makes the mistake of bringing up Louise Haigh's resignation, saying "the public needs conviction politicians, not politicians with convictions". Forgetting that Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak both unlawfully broke Covid restrictions. And were fined. While in office. #PMQs
