One of the perks of having a newborn and not getting to sleep as much is you get much more time to read. Nausicaä is one of the best manga I’ve ever read, it makes me wish we got the full treatment. As much as I love the movie, it’s maybe 1/100th of the full story. Sorta like Akira, but even moreso.

Who knew walking into Natural Wonders or the Discovery Channel store and buying some wooden dinosaur bone model kits and these were the high point of civilization? I wish I could take my kids to those stores now so badly.

This new printing is way bigger than I anticipated. Super stoked as the artwork is incredible so getting to see it on this larger scale is mesmerizing. The movie is one of my favorites, but this is like LOTR book vs movie expounding. There’s so much wonder here and discoveries to make.

I always like Ghibli movies the most in spring, the verdant greens and Sakura blooms make me happy. We just got around to watching Boy and the Heron completely after watching every other Hayao Miyazaki to build up, and I’m just speechless. The hard pivot and every ounce of Hayao’s magic, beautiful.

Wax sealed penpal letter number two! Pretty happy with how it turned out, though maybe less wax next time. Need more stamps. And to remember I have washi tape. It’s really peaceful, enjoyable, and nice sitting down and writing a letter to someone that you can’t really replicate with anything else.

Today my wife saw a neighbor carrying his elderly aunt but she collapsed hard, she sent me to go help. Electric had cut her off to repair something without warning but she’s on life support, so her nephew was helping her to his house. Another neighbor and I help him to lay her down.
