I noticed this stuff too and I have to ask, why is it on there anyway? It feels like we're going backwards as a society sometimes. They'll be setting up Gladiator auditoriums soon. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

I should clarify that I'm not a policy advisor for world governments, but shouldn't we all just stop selling stuff to the USA and instead sell it to each other? His tariffs won't work if nothing is coming in, and the stuff he needs to kickstart US manufacturing they'll have to import so...

www.theguardian.com/technology/2... None of this is real money though is it? All these billionaires... It's all just made up figures. There one minute, gone the next, back again the minute after. The tragedy is that our pensions are tied to all this bullshit.

Elon got a bit excited last night didn't he?

There's a human on The Clangers and I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

A superbly talented but troubled soul hopefully at rest. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

Imagine sacking Dyche now. If they'd done it before Christmas there would have been loads of door jobs available. Sad

Here’s this week’s cartoon for @theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/football/pic...

It’s Nollaig na mBan or Women’s Christmas in Ireland. Traditionally it was a day off for women who had worked to make Christmas great for their families. Nowadays it’s also a time to remember + celebrate women. So here’s a funny podcast on Gráinne O Malley I was in. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...

Couple of opps for new comedy writers coming up. Firstly Sitcom Mission, which has a good track record. Enter with a 15m sitcom script (And yes the Beeb do commission 15m sitcoms now & then). Open now & enter by 27th Apr - so bags of time to write one 😃 www.comedy.co.uk/sitcom_missi...

Secondly over on R4 their sketch show ‘DMs Are Open’ is back for a new series, it has a slightly revised format now, but it’s still open to new unagented writers. It’s a brilliant place to get your first writing credits if you can write comedy sketches. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/a...

Listen, I'm probably going to be asleep at midnight due to being old and the father of a three and a bit year old, so let me say it now to you and mean it sincerely: Happy New Year.

I don't particularly dislike Man City, but it was great when they were losing wasn't it? #motd

I'm loving this fog sticking round.

I'm not sure there's anything more irritating than switching on your car ignition and you Bluetooth belting out the same song on Spotify automatically every time you get in the car.

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers. Day 3:

I'm on #MorningLive in a minute. Wish I'd polished my boots. My old dad would be furious.

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and public services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend any money is so important to so many people

What a beauty of a book this is. It's about so much more than football and highly recommended.

Hello? Is this thing on?
