I think they call Junodream music 'dream rock'. And their debut album, Pools Of Colour, from last year certainly lives up to that tag. It's not afraid to let loose when the time comes, but it's also a collection of sonic soundscapes, all excellently produced, with no filler.

41 years today since The Blue Nile released their debut album, A Walk Across The Rooftops. Their absolute masterpiece was still to come, but this is a near-perfect record. Tinseltown In The Rain is the obvious pick, but Heatwave, Stay, and Easter Parade are all 10/10 for me.

Talking Heads were past their best come 1998, but the final song from their final album is an absolute triumph. David Byrne does so much so well, but you rarely heard him singing angrily. On Cool Water, he is passionate in displeasure as the song builds to a rousing finale.

Brothers In Arms might not be the best Dire Straits album, but it sounds mighty fine on a sunny evening. Knopfler is just so good at everything he does; can't believe it took me all these years to finally appreciate the talent on show across their discography.

Been a tough few days, back off work, so feeling sorry for myself and watching the classic Dawn Of The Dead. I'm not sure if it's the best zombie movie ever, but it's in the top one.

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 199/365 🗣️ Richard Hawley 💿 Coles Corner As a Rotherham lad, it's a travesty I've not listened to Sheffield's own Richard Hawley before now. Even if I was from Timbuktu, I'd be cursing having not heard this before tonight.

Sometimes you just need a film you can switch your brain off for and enjoy the ride. This is one of those films. Sean Connery is especially brilliant, as ever.

#NowWatching The Rock Never seen this before, but closing out the weekend with a mindless action and a little bit more Nicolas Cage 😂 Let's see what we have in store...

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 198/365 🗣️ Neil Young 💿 After The Gold Rush My higgledy-piggledy Neil Young journey takes in another fantastic listen. In fact, this might just be my favourite yet. Certainly an easier listen than Tonight's The Night, but no less crucial.

#365NewToMeAlbums #NowPlaying 197/365 🗣️ The Clash 💿 Give 'Em Enough Rope Everyone who said I would enjoy subsequent Clash albums after their debut have certainly been proven right at the first hurdle. Like that debut, this isn't something I'd revisit often, but I liked it.

She has the most beautiful face in the whole world 🐶❤️

#NowPlaying 🗣️ Talk Talk 💿 Laughing Stock Usually a nighttime album, but today is all about my favourite things as tomorrow marks my return to work after three months off with depression and anxiety. My favourite album of all time is such an important comfort blanket 🎶❤️

#PinkFloydTop20 I have combined the two playlists from last week’s challenge to run chronologically (Anthology style). All of DSOTM and WYWH made it in and all of Meddle and Animals too (minus one track each). open.spotify.com/playlist/0up...

#NowPlaying 🗣️ Maria Somerville 💿 Luster First listen to Somerville after seeing rave reactions from fellow music nuts. Really digging the less-is-more approach to shoegaze. The hushed vocals and haunting minimalism pair together brilliantly. Hauntingly delicious music.
