Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

So there's still Santa-believers who need A Paper on 100% obvious outcomes that follow inevitably from the nature of LLMs - they don't / can't "understand" anything, they just probabilistically imitate whatever characteristics of "understanding" can be measured or extrapolated from training data.

It was amazing working with them. We had green versions of Zorak’s bandstand so we could put them in the set. I helped drive them and their instruments around. It was a really fun shoot and they wrote a special song for us. Space Ghost referred to them as “The Beatles.”
