How am I just finding out a new Collet-Serra horror movie is out this month

Jeff Rosenstock and Pierce Jordan from Soul Glo played this track at the show last night and I just can’t believe this is a song for a children’s cartoon

As a Texas native it’s been heartbreaking to see what Drafthouse has turned into over the years—nothing more than yet another corporation that disregards the value of the labor that make the damn thing happen

“Personal liberties” except getting abortions and being trans and advocating for inclusive work spaces and generally supporting left-wing ideals in any capacity—otherwise we’ll write about whatever!

you're free to cover whatever topic you wish, as long as it's the topic I want. that topic? freedom

@cheekface.bsky.social I met a cheek freak at the Jeff Rosenstock show. We love middle spoon

Interviewing someone this week who, based on their filmography, I can only assume is a True Certified Freak (they recently had a 4k restoration of their most famous film release on Criterion and have a restoration of another film playing IFC Center soon….)

Me and the other skinny white guys with their arms crossed staring off into the middle distance are creating an impenetrable blockade at the Macseal show

Middle spoon is coming 2/25

This is the kind of bullshit middle management does to make it look like they did something this week. If you’re in a position of authority over other workers, and YOU don’t know what they’re doing or why it matters, then YOU’RE the useless one.

Adam Scott has been giving an amazing performance the past few Severance episodes

It’s taken me 6 hours to figure out how to set this shit up but I did it motherfucker

Someone in my complex sold me this home theater speaker set up for 50 smackers. Seems like it goes for $350ish new. Sometimes life is beautiful

Going to a location I always feel extremely uncomfortable in: Advanced Auto Parts

discovered that Little Caesar’s has an Apple Watch app and it’s just this image that you can’t interact with in any way

Aw fuck. Just remembered my shift at the gorge starts tomorrow

AFCC member Trace Sauveur (@tracesauveur.bsky.social‬) reviews the new Osgood Perkins film #TheMonkey which he feels suffers from an identity crisis: awardswatch.com/the-monkey-r... #AFCC #MovieReview

I know hypocrisy-posting is useless but given so much of Elon's witch hunt is "exposing" gov. employees/civil servants he deems rich, equating wealth (real or imagined) to corruption, like, what does that make him, the world's richest man?

Well when you put it like that

THE MONKEY is out today. I didn’t really like it! Review:

Mail day

People literally died from Covid while claiming it doesn’t exist. There is never going to be a wake up call for some people. A lot of people. It’s not about convincing them if they can’t be convinced. IMO it’s about overwhelming them entirely with opposition.

They might get my dumb ass to go in this thing

these people live on X and believe the entire world is X

Went to browse one of my local used book/video stores where I typically don’t find all that much but accidentally cleaned them out 😬

Hey from ya boy

I’m back on the Awards Watch podcast this weekend to talk about the dire mess that is CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD with @ryanmcquade77.bsky.social, and we also try to figure out if we can fix the MCU:

AwardsWatch Podcast Ep. 275 – Reviewing ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ On episode 275 of The AwardsWatch Podcast, Executive Editor Ryan McQuade is joined by AwardsWatch contributor Trace Sauveur to talk about the latest film from the MCU, Captain America: Brave New World and dive into a…

You should stop supporting anyone in the horror space who voted for this, or who didn’t vote against it. You are under no obligation to tolerate folks who thought that this was good, or that this was interchangeable with the other side. No need to be polite to closet bigots or grifters. Fuck em.

I reviewed Osgood Perkins' new film THE MONKEY for @awardswatch.bsky.social, a mildly entertaining movie that really gets stuck between the conflicting modes it approaches the material with. Some good death sequences though, and a great monkey.

Everyone sane already knows this, but it’s just crazy to see the fact that all the anti-DEI rhetoric is really just an excuse to have a witch hunt against any and all minority workers brazenly confirmed out in the open

This conversation does have be considering who is more famous between Mickey Mouse and Mario. Sound off below

We have to, as a culture, be able to recognize when films aren’t good even if they are making strides for diversity. EMILIA PEREZ is an obvious example and now BRAVE NEW WORLD is one too. Doing something different is great, in theory, but that doesn’t mean the work is automatically good either.

The 20-minute conversation on @doughboys.bsky.social this week about who the most famous person is, which deconstructs into arguing what the most "famous" (identifiable) object or abstract concept is, may constitute the zenith of podcasts as a medium, well done to the Dough gang
