Many think about macroeconomics in microeconomics terms And about floating, fiat money with in terms of gold standard or other fixed regimes It's like studying chemistry to understand biology Or playing draughts (checkers) in the hope of being good at chess

This is a great distinction: Comparative advantage: real value accrues more directly and broadly to citizens - producing endogenous growth Competitive advantage: real value leaks out and is parked in financial IOUs (other countries' deficits) that just pile up until imbalances become unsustainable
