Computer update: motherboard issues so it had to be sent back to the manufacturer. No idea when I'll be getting it back. I'm sorry, I know it's been 3 weeks with absolutely nothing new from me, but there is just nothing I can do. I'm sorry.

Specifically: the cat ears initially were a headband that Trahearne put on him as a joke that he didn't notice for a while. Then he decided that, clearly, Trahearne liked him in them so much that he grew out his leaves to mimic real ones. The tail was a later choice 🐾

Canon: Kaushue tiny. Kaushue's cat ears are in fact real, they are leaves and he can move them. Unsure if he's adapted to hear through them. Kaushue has a tail to match, but he keeps it wrapped around his waist most of the time to keep it out of the way. He shows it when comfortable with someone.
