On a lighter note, Kid Me also created this hilarious attempt at a book cover. My main characters were 80% grown-ass dudes (that little guy's a halfling) because YA wasn't a thing back then and most of the MCs I'd read about were men

I found my stash of old notebooks. They go way back to 2001, when I was 12. They're a jumble of letters to God and fantasy worldbuilding. I had to reassure my God that I didn't really believe in other gods, they were just part of the story I was writing. Because I didn't want to hurt His feelings 😆

I was gonna post this on r/curlyhair under the title "HELP ME" but I chickened out

I could have written this. 😭 And once more for the back: some people really just use em-dashes -- we're not AI!

Straight into the next one 😆 Also, this just made me realize that the flower on my head makes me look like I'm trying to be an anglerfish to flower-seekers 😯

instead of using ai everyone should do what i do, which is draw things badly

I know Bluesky doesn't have a fancy algorithm, but sometimes, my feed just gets me. I've felt the exact same way recently, but for an in-person writing group 😅

Back to listening to Crime and Punishment, and no, Raskolnikov, nooo! 😭  I can't believe I was just crying over this poor, sweet boy who was heartbroken over a horse being beaten, and now he's an axe murderer?! Goddammit, Fyodor.  That said, how insanely compelling is this contrast? *takes notes*

I feel this. Just got my rejection yesterday (though it wasn't so much a direct message to me as a post naming the people who got accepted, and my name wasn't there). But Imma keep going too!
