The correct headline should read "why would any trans person feel safe being treated by any NHS nurse with personal views like Peggie". If you can walk out on a cis patient because of your clear prejudice of a trans doctor, you surely would have no problem walking out on a trans patient.

The case of Dr Upton really sums up the UK’s relationship with trans. A daily barrage of abusive, demonising stories from those who are supposedly ‘cancelled’ , ‘silenced’ and powerless. On platforms such as BBCNews, Times, Express etc. On a ‘live’ hearing. Contempt laws ignored. Zero trans voices.

The whole Peggie case doesn't centre around changing rooms, it centres around her notable dislike of trans people. That's the main motive here, the changing room scenario only gave her a way to get back at Dr Upton. It's all about embarrassing a capable trans person and that's key for her. Hateful.
