Over 10 years ago my interest in Counter Strike began, and in 2016 I went to my first event as a fan. Now for the past 4 years I’ve casted the esport for a living and will be attending HLTV’s Award Show for the 2nd time. Life is funny. Won’t be stopping the grind, or being grateful for it.

Counter Strike is just the most beautiful esport man. As someone who’s been into sport my entire life CS’s storylines resonated with me back in 2015 and they still don’t fail to deliver now. The G2 vs Heroic and FaZe vs Vitality quarters today were just a glorious experience to drink in. Special.

20 drivers and 10 teams has always felt a bit low to me. 24 in 2010 (when Virgin, Caterham and HRT joined) was nice but those teams weren’t competitive which was the biggest issue. A competent 11th team to up it to 22 feels like a happy medium

Possibly my favourite CS story of 2024 has been the rise of PassionUA. Their style was always fun to cast, but they’ve now refined that to a level where they’ve become the beautiful underdog story from the Shanghai major at only their second ever LAN. With formats changing, it’s a tale to treasure.

EU RMR B for the Shanghai major truly has been a massacre compared to A. BIG/3DMAX 3-0 is insane BIG's draw was relatively easy. 3DMAX taking EF and G2 shows so much and so well deserved after how long the core has been plying their trade. The one tier1.5/tier2 prediction I got right so far!
