try our new “arbeit macht fries”

I try not to xpost from x but sometimes you have to show @kevingates.bsky.social things:

GOP: [Passes kick every American in the dick act.] Americans: We would all prefer our dicks unkicked! Democratic Senator: We’re just going to have to hope that our dick kicking colleagues across the aisle eventually slake their thirst for dick kicking and move on.

repost is endorsement

Michael Bontatibus with a pitch that will sound familiar to #2amt folks: #neverbedark Here the offer bolstering a flagging edge of the performance field in exchange for access to an audience that would never come to your space by letting them use your space.

Vought is giving big banks and giant corporations the green light to scam families. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has returned over $21 billion to families cheated by Wall Street. Republicans have failed to gut it in Congress and in the courts. They will fail again.

wop wop wop wop wop dot fuck em up

I am really enjoying the Pitt. Sad!Carter running a more humane ER is really comfortable. Kindness is good soup.

"Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) on Wednesday rolled out the Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK) Act, which would ban 'special' government employees like Musk from having federal contracts."

Elon Musk is a terrible president.

Roses are redde Noble are the manatees Yf we wante a bettir future Teach artes & humanityes

The first Senators to actually do anything about the Trump admin

The Luka-AD trade screams Luka's "calf" is a strained Achilles and the Mavs aren't giving a supermax to Nu Larry Bird if it comes in the Bryant Reeves package.

We have always assumed that anyone we granted the helm of the country would intend for the country to be a going concern when they were done. Ope.

President Trump issued an executive order to find out what education funds he can legally rescind based on curriculum he doesn’t like. Existing law already answers that question —nothing.

What I loved the most about working at Walmart in Ye Olden Tymes was the calming aesthetics of my department. (also here for wearing a staff shirt from Richard Schechner's ArtNow rally in DC to work at Walmart)

Thinking the Magic 8-Ball is useless is midwit. It's a magic ball that answers any question you ask it from levels ranging from modestly coherent to extremely proficient. If you haven't bothered to figure it out to derive some utility out of it then you're just being lazy tbh.

If you create content or products it really is important that you create permanent space you at least sort of control online to host it/them. This platform is still incredibly fluid and it's visible makers are warm and responsive... But it's still in Jack Dorsey orbit and... Stay nimble is all.

Imagine your adherence to your chosen dogma being so fragile it's only obtainable if you make it illegal not to adhere?

Yes & This is like explaining that everyone should get good at using a lathe. It's a perfectly cromulent tool if it's the tool needed but you probably don't need it But also: an answer engine whose frontline evangelists admit ranges from imaginative but maybe right to probably right is STILL BAD.

The best pumpernickel pretzel is:

Yes, I was infatuated with you: I am still. No one has ever heightened such a keen capacity of physical sensation in me. I cut you out because I couldn’t stand being a passing fancy. Before I give my body, I must give my thoughts, my mind, my dreams. And you weren’t having any of those Sylvia Plath

Absolutely unbelievable ad in the community theater playbill.

Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works. Confirming that the Anansi Boys comic series and collected volume have been cancelled.

I get that he spent he career everywhere but there basically - and a NY cap is fine... but it was CC Sabathia's Milwaukee run that sold me on better than good. It wasn't Randy Johnson in Houston but it was GREAT.

This week's Internet winner goes to...

Like. My problem with this week is my problem with the Rebellion in Star Wars (if you think instead of popcorn) Your opponent has spammed the weapon planet scheme... Maybe plan for weapon planet? We knew P2025 was coming and NO ONE IN DC HAD A PLAN? There is no opposition.

Went to an event tonight celebrating an artist, in a room full of artists, and right about now that felt like a VERY good thing to be able to do. We all talked about other things because we could but it was there. And we chose joy.

One thing about me is that I will fight Nazis until I’m six feet in the ground.

It actually is very important that you do things that you take pleasure in, regularly. That is part of how you survive the things that feel like they are going to destroy you.

I don't want to scoop @jeffpasan.bsky.social but there's a better than average chance I sign with the Dodgers. I don't know what I'd do over there but they have infinity money and roster spots so... Freddie Freeman as Marc Antony cmn right up!

I’m young enough that the sentence “The NFL playoff game between Detroit and Washington had all the signs of a high-scoring affair” still seems like part of an SAT question we’d make fun of because the writer had clearly never watched football

It's okay if you know nothing about a topic to just shut up. Don't demonstrate you know nothing and let the audience decide if your valiant take is worthy. Just have the awareness to know when you don't know and shut up.

was mostly keeping it together until I read Kyle MacLachlan's tribute to David Lynch

an elegant weapon for a more civilized age

A personally difficult story for us, but a necessary one. My statement below, for the record [as an image+alt text, so it all fits on one page]. It's all I can manage at this time.

From a Youtube Video: “Why was 19 afraid of 20, because 28-3.“

Warning to all bluesky users:

I don't mean to be whiny. and if my impression is wrong please correct me. But the steel, oil, railroad oligarchs were at least GOOD at something. These idiots aren't even that great at the thing that made them oligarchs. #NoMuskTok
