Hey, if you think canon sucks, feel free to override it. The person making the thing is a person like you or me. Their opinions and viewpoints aren't above yours by default. Hell, sometimes they're BELOW because they suck! If they didn't want it to happen, they should've written it better.

When I first started showing off my drawings (including the ones I paid) I made attempts to soften my characters backgrounds and subjects after having some chats with people. Now since I'm probably a pariah, I'm going back to making my characters background and some subjects dark and edgy as hell.
