Couple uses AI as part of civil resolution tribunal proceedings. AI invents made-up case law references. Couple has case dismissed. ---- Irony. "He said he will continue to use AI to get general information on a topic but not for future legal or other serious matters." www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Some CWD/urban deer news that didn't make deadline: -Per Ministry population counts, there are *270* urban deer in Cranbrook and 220 in Kimberley. - Wildlife permits for a special hunt of deer in the immediate rural area surrounding Cranbrook has gone from 50 -> 120.

Still waiting on some granular data about urban deer numbers in Cranbrook/Kimberley, but here's the gist of today's announcement. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/bc-coll...

BREAKING: Colin Correia has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Vancouver Supreme Court this morning for the killing of an innocent couple 15 years ago outside Cranbrook, in what was intended to be a targeted hit against a rival gang member who used to live in the residence.

My last (no promises) update on the campaign for radiation therapy infrastructure at ERKH in Cranbrook. A new building will hold expanded renal and oncology services, but no radiation therapy infrastructure. Infrastructure Minister Bowinn Ma explains why. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/infrast...

The province is issuing up to 50 special permits for an out-of-season deer hunt around Cranbrook, in order to collect and test more CWD samples. This is not a part of plans for urban deer removal, as that aspect should be announced soon. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/provinc...

Had a conversation with B.C. Infrastructure Minister Bowinn Ma about the current state & future of Amy Woodland Elementary School in Cranbrook — a facility that was severely damaged by fire last summer. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/cranbro...

Follow up on the renal/oncology expansion at EKRH in Cranbrook and why radiation therapy was excluded. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/radiati...

Thinking about Yeats today. "The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity."

BCGov has approved a $59M expansion of renal and oncology services at EKRH in Cranbrook through the addition of a new two-storey building. Radiation therapy infrastructure is not included, which will rankle local officials who had been campaigning for it. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/provinc...

Checked in with Kootenay Columbia Conservative MP Rob Morrison for his reaction to PMJT resignation. Also checked in with Tamara Cartwright, the Kootenay-Columbia Liberal Party EDA chair. www.cranbrooktownsman.com/news/mp-morr...
