When Edward Snowdon revealed how much electronic comms were compromised by CIA and GCHQ, govts around the world bought typewriters. The revolution will be on pen and paper.

"I, a professional political commentator, was so excited about Trump persecuting minorities and trashing the climate that I was completely oblivious to his obvious sympathy with Putin. Please pay me for my political analysis." I mean, rejoice over every sinner who repents and all that, but come on

Itā€™s a coup. Itā€™s a strategic alliance with Putin. Itā€™s the end of the post-war international order. Itā€™s the triumph of lies over truth and in Putinā€™s case, evil over good. We are through the looking glass & we all now have to decide who we are & what we stand for

I hear Nigel Farage is declining interview requests. First time for everything, I suppose. I suspect heā€™ll eventually speak to whoever is least likely to challenge him properly.

Harsh words from a former Tory minister. But fair. This is no time for equivocation.

Dear #MAGA Iā€™ll explain Ā«weapons for UkraineĀ» in a way you may understand šŸ˜Æ When your car is too broken to fix, you send it to destruction or keep it in your yard, cuz u pay for this, ok? But a nice Ukrainian took hand of it for free, and used the metal for something useful.

We don't deserve @mrjohncrace.bsky.social

Trump's "freedom" is forced compliance.

A tragedy proving a simple truth. There is no true peace anywhere until there is a just peace everywhere.

For the foreseeable future, it is all of us versus the far right, both within and without. Nothing else matters.

This is what it is!!!!

Last week, Elon Musk appeared alongside Trump in the Oval to defend the work of DOGE. Looking directly at Musk, Trump asked; ā€œCould you mention some of the things *your team* has found?ā€ Tonight, the government claimed that Musk isnā€™t in charge of DOGE & isnā€™t a DOGE employee.

Kemi Badenoch is competing with Nigel Farage to fawn over Donald Trump. To borrow a phrase from her political hero - sad.

Vance comes to Munich and lectures Europe on free speech but fails to mention Russia, where free speech gets people murdered. What should have been an important address about conflict is used to push an agenda to Europe's far right. Nobody should trust a word said by his administration.

I stand with Canada

44 years ago. Lyrics could have been written today. Nevill Staples and Terry Hall lyrics describe the current state of disillusionment in our world. #nowplaying #aposite open.spotify.com/track/2wQXH5...

When people see the maple leaf, they see possibility. They see freedom. They see a helping hand. They see Canada, and the best of our values. Happy 60th to our flag. šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦

Heā€™s so desperately wants to be taken seriously. But heā€™s a clown- A joke.

Why does a 38-year old U.S. Attorney in SDNY, who is also a die hard conservative, have more guts and integrity than the entirety of the GOP Senate Conference combined?! Shame on the shameless sycophants and enablers there, who canā€™t find the spine to stand up to common MAGA bullies.

Lib Dems respond to JD Vanceā€™s speech at the Munich Security Conference Foreign affairs spokesperson @calummillerld.bsky.social says:

As President Trump is again bringing up the ā€œtens of millionsā€ of Russians who died in WWII, it is worth underlining that he likely means Soviet not Russian casualties. In reality, Ukraine lost far more people than Russia proportionally, while only a small part of Russia was ever occupied

Elon Musk advising Trump on cutting govā€™t spending while potentially securing a $400M contract for Teslaā€™s Cybertruck raises serious concerns about conflicts of interest. This deal looks more like a way for powerful individuals to profit off taxpayers, not about serving the publicā€™s best interests.

And just like that, they had their shibboleth. Here's the thing: the Gulf renaming is the silliest hill to die on. Yes, it's dumb, and arrogant, but it's a distraction that will tie you up in knots, while marking you out (as it has here) for discrimination. Next come the new school atlases.

There's a real danger that Democrats are going to try to pursue all this through the courts, which could take months and years, meanwhile the machinery of govt, including who gets paid and who doesn't, is gone. Unless you expect lawyers and police to work for free all those months...

Imagine you were the richest man in the world. You could have anything you wanted, go anywhere you wished, do whatever took you fancy. How would you spend your weekend? Depriving the poorest people in the world of food and healthcare and boasting about it?
