Western Washington has a string of active volcanoes (Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams). I can see Rainier (14,410 ft) to the south and Baker (10,781 ft) to the north often on neighborhood walks. They've been showing off recently. #mountains #iPhoto

For those who haven't heard, OpenAI has accused DeepSeek of improperly harvesting its data. Ironic, considering the multiple lawsuits against OpenAI re: its own copyright infringement.

Today's trip into nature. My spirit rising like the Douglas fir trees crowned with sunlight. Saw and heard a few woodpeckers but not any owls. #iPhoto #trees #nature

Hard to push aside grief sometimes, but this face in the moss along a trail is smile-making. My Rx for the years ahead is to get out in nature as much as possible. #moss #nature #outdoors

the rain vanishes winds swell running free leaving winter fires to bloom #DailyHaikuPrompt (smoke, fruit--kigo hemisphere) #kigo #haiku #poetrycommunity (although I still find it hard to concentrate on anything but fires, friends and family, I found it helpful to write something)

the only snow falling is ash drifting dreams undone #DailyHaikuPrompt (snow-- I haven't been writing haiku for days so worried for friends and family in the fires) #haiku

“While the fires that have devastated celebrity neighborhoods near Malibu have caught the world's attention, a similar size blaze in Eaton Canyon, north of Los Angeles, has ravaged Altadena, a racially and economically diverse community”

The terrible thing happened: Close family friends lost everything in the Eaton fire. Neighborhood gone, school gone. They made a wish list of ankle socks, shirts, dresses, day packs, shoes for their girls. Multiply by the hundreds/thousands of people hit by these fires. This is the need. #LAFires
