That's exactly what Internet 1 was like before the devs ruined it. And it's weird, like, the "Web 2.0" update in 2004 was pretty great! But everything since the "Pivot to Mobile" rollout circa 2012 has been like a car crash in slow motion. Makes me wish we'd stuck with dial-up.

the zoot suit Samus meme is interesting because Tom & Jerry's Hep Kats (1943) is really the first "metroidvania." The early route into the girl's house is closed off, so Tom has to collect pieces of more powerful gear and then backtrack. I am making this post specifically to piss off 2-3 game devs.
