Following the process of #photosketching, capturing everyday moments without chasing self-imposed perfection. Not every #photograph needs to be a statement. Some can be a moment in time, or a future memory. Still, it’s all politics. Decking laid by my father at the cabins, a man-altered landscape.

alone, alone against two tyrants the mighty few will sound their sirens alone, alone against the lying eagle chant the mighty few call to meet the marching of the ant alone, alone against the night the mighty few will shine their light

Every Friday, I’ll try to keep sharing a from my ongoing #photography #photobook project, “And sometimes, even today, I call it beauty,” inspired by James Wright’s poem Beautiful Ohio. Formed by light, structure, and memory, our spaces are changing, one small frame at the time.

Spending time working, playing, and having fun with sequencing images from a long term project, making connections over spreads and beyond pages is so rewarding for both the process and knowledge gained. Following @skogphotography.bsky.social during this process is most definitely a recommendation.

Always interesting going through newly developed («1 year old») films for a quick first edit. Because of time, I’m prioritizing project related images, but sometimes stopping and scanning some just out of interest. Keep having fun. #photography

Trying to keep up sharing some #photosketching as we go. But most importantly it’s just about trying to understand and have fun while «building and structuring» frames, trough the day to day.

First iteration of a newly created website for presenting my #photography: www.trondfroestad.com. Keeping it simple and quiet, but it’s a foundation for further development during this Oxford Brookes semester. Sometimes, it’s just about ticking the boxes.

An interesting perspective here, @mredthompson.bsky.social. Well worth the 7:06. Noted down for further research.

Currently considering a live streamed A Photographic Life one day event. Free to attend in person. Maybe four special guests. Taking place in Oxford with easy access from London. Anyone interested?

I’ve been trying to follow the process of #photosketching, capturing everyday moments without overthinking or obsessing over a self-imposed search for perfection. But maybe that’s the point. Not every #photograph needs to be a statement. Some can simply be a breath, from a moment in time.

Friday researching «Two Blue Buckets» from Peter Fraser and «Making Do and Getting By» from Richard Wentworth. Searching for connections in the everyday and overlooked. The continuing conversations from the MA #photography course at Oxford Brookes continues to lead down the #photobook rabbit hole.

With the workweekend wrapped up, I’m grateful to my fellow student, @skogphotography.bsky.social, for introducing me to the concept of #photosketching. Low winter sun catching our facilities makes these quick observations a reminder of the beauty in often-overlooked spaces. #photography

Photographers: a reminder that visual art is an international language. I know of one famous Southern photographer that had far and away more shows and sales in Spain than in his own home state of Alabama. You never know where your audience may be.

Friday morning off work ritual: coffee in hand, #photobooks close by, and the changing light moving across 100-year-old walls. A quiet space spent researching and reflecting on time in long-term #photography projects, before the rhythm of a work-weekend begins.
