Getting Started

What a wonderful day at our annual Graduate Research and Innovation Exchange poster session! #proudPI #WPIBME MS student Chris Nguyen and PhD student Emma Slavin did a great job!

The best sort of networking happens on a hike! @orssociety.bsky.social #ORS2025 -with @karenkruger.bsky.social and others

AIMBE has developed a new advocacy letter on the changes to NIH indirect cost rates: aimbe.org/advocate/wri... We urge the broader biomedical research community to customize this letter (<1 minute) to contact your congressional representatives about the severe consequences of this new policy 👇

not paying indirect costs for research is like only paying the players in the Super Bowl. can't have a Super Bowl without coaches, referees, security, janitors, announcers, stadium staff, and a stadium - and you can't have research without supporting people and facilities

AIMBE has posted a public statement on the impact of federal policy changes on biomedical research: aimbe.org/advocate/wri... Above, we have also developed an advocacy letter for members of the medical & biological engineering community to send to their congressional representatives on this matter.

One of the best parts of my job is seeing the impact that I can have on my students. One former undergrad just stopped by my office with this lovely keychain they made for me -- in my favorite color and complete with my lab name (MBL - musculoskeletal biomechanics lab) and a foot skeleton!

Calling all orthopedic computational modeling folks attending #ORS2025! Please join us for the Digital Twins Research interest group on Monday night! There will be speakers, poster pitches, and great discussions and networking!

Excellent perspective by @lisamjarvis.bsky.social @bloomberg.com on the deep freeze at NIH

Hi all - here's to hoping that this platform doesn't get overrun with anti-science, anti-respect-for-all-people right wing conspirators. Will occasionally post science stuff here.
