As someone who worked making metal pipes in a factory for 7 dollars an hour, Republicans have no fucking idea what they are asking for. If they were asking for intermediate manufacturing (where we buy cheap goods from free trade and then modify/build from them here) I would be down to hear them out,

Remember how raising the minimum wage by even a couple dollars would "crush small businesses" or "make people have to charge more" to the point that it was completely off the table? Yeah, a 10%-50% increase on materials/goods is that buch much worse. Instead of paying a few employees 10-20% more,
