Unless Musk is stupid, he knows what he is doing to the US government. He is hiding his efforts in “cost cutting and efficiency”. When a corporation does this it is called “restructuring”. Musk knows that shutting down or resource starving areas of the government is meant result in their failure.

I was working with a wonderful startup who was innovating around the problem of providing better solutions for kidney patients who are on dialysis. They had to shut down because their NIH funding was cut. #realpeoplebeinghurtbyTrunp

Unfortunately the US is in a very sad place where real crisis must develop and where Trump voters must feel real pain before the pendulum swings back. But what has been destroyed in the meantime? Foreign relations, innovation, freedom of speech. Hopefully not the American spirit.
