I could write Pride and Prejudice in a week. Maybe even less if I got someone to hold the book and turn the pages as I retype them. When I do that, I’m ‘wasting my time’ but when your LLM does that it’s ‘genius, a real time-saver’.

I agree with this. I would also say: if you don’t have at least one friend who comes from that culture… why the hell are you trying to write about it? The fewer people you actually know from that culture, the more likely it is you’re writing about a stereotype in your head not about real people.
