See, I agree with all that, but I thought it was at least straight up good. Not earth shattering but really proficient, Phil sounded so good he barely sounded like Phil. I’m not a Phil guy but this is honestly the best thing he’s been a part of for a long time to me. But I do love black metal.

This was my favorite black metal release too. I also thought it was straight forward black as opposed to atmo/melo, like second wave but with modern recording. It was quite good but I think there’s room to improve on a second release as well.
