so uhhhh did Elon shut down the National Sex Offender Registry too? www.nsopw.gov

(AP) — Elon Musk’s cost-cutting team is eliminating jobs at the vehicle safety agency that oversees Tesla and has launched investigations into deadly crashes involving his company’s cars. #OligarchEra 🇺🇸 apnews.com/article/musk...

Hey Elon...If you want to cut fraud and waste, start with Medicare Advantage, which costs 22% more than traditional Medicare and provides garbage coverage for beneficiaries. 📰 UnitedHealth Medicare Advantage bombshell exposes $83 billion in government waste www.marketwatch.com/story/united...

LITERALLY EVERY FBI DIRECTOR HAS BEEN A REPUBLICAN. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

"Watch Texas spend more on prisons than it does on schools. Thinking of making your tax structure more regressive? Come to the Lone Star State and see how it’s done."

Another great resource!

People don’t give a shit if it's one or two bills. They care that Republicans are hellbent on cutting the *$6 per day* families get in nutrition assistance and the Medicaid benefits millions of working families rely on to see a doctor. And for what? To pay for more tax cuts for giant corporations.

Elon Musk fired a disabled Veteran with 3 tours of duty from his job serving other Veterans at the VA. Elon’s companies get billions from defense contracts. He’s happy to profit off our servicemembers - but when he can no longer make money off them, he kicks them to the curb.

This is a vitally important point. Journalists need to start telling the story of people whose lives are being destroyed, upended, damaged as a result of the actions of this administration.

Everyone in the Trump coalition voted for someone to get got. Most of them didn’t realize that they were that someone to someone else.

Musk’s Wealth 2012: $2 billion 2025: $394.2 billion Bezos’ Wealth 2012: $18.4 billion 2025: $241.9 billion Zuckerberg’s Wealth 2012: $17.5 billion 2025: $254.1 billion Federal Minimum Wage 2012: $7.25 2025: $7.25 It’s not the start of an oligarchy. — We’re in the thick of it.

Meanwhile, so much for “free speech” over at The Bad Place.

Just sayin...

“Musk could also have simply looked up the SSA’s own website, which explains that since September 2015 the agency has automatically stopped benefit payments when anyone reaches the age of 115.” www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

Upon receiving the news that four of the City's Deputy Mayors have submitted their resignations, I sent the following letter to @nycmayor.

ACCURATE 💯%

New: An Americorps grantee (someone who runs a valuable government-funded social program) has sent me a copy of "Executive Order Compliance Instructions" that Americorps sent out yesterday ordering all grantees to certify that their programs don't "promote DEI activities." (thread)

Stand with science. Always.

Meanwhile an apartheid emerald fortune heir is shutting down our consumer protection watchdog and firing everyone who makes the government work... for "savings" that'll go straight to his pocket in tax cuts and government contracts. They're robbing us blind while they racially cleanse the country.

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse. Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

This morning, I sent a letter to the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) regarding Elon Musk’s potential conflicts of interest. Within minutes, the White House confirmed receipt. By noon, President Trump fired the Director of OGE. I want to know: Was this to prevent his answer?

Word of the day: autogolpe A self-coup, also called an autocoup or coup from the top, is a form of coup d'état in which a political leader, having come to power through legal means, stays in power through illegal means through the actions of themselves and/or their supporters.

SCOOP: Cats that became infected with bird flu might have spread the virus to humans in the same household and vice versa, according to data that briefly appeared online in a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention but then abruptly vanished. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/06/h...

Musk is evil. 1. He wants all money to go to the billionaire cartel & calls all socially justified revenues “corruption”, that is, not for HIM. 2. He is a white supremacist. 3. He works for plutocratic dictatorship.

This fact sheet on the White House website lists bullet point items of what it alleges are “waste and abuse” at USAID. I was curious what they came up with. Actually every link is to articles at Daily Mail, Breitbart and Washington examiner. www.whitehouse.gov/uncategorize...

The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned. Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.

"The entire business model of industrial farming creates the perfect conditions for diseases to spread. But instead of stepping in to protect people, the government deferred to Big Ag to handle the outbreak on their own." Read our latest op-ed here ⤵️

Last week @allinwithchris.bsky.social cited @propublica.org and @documented.net's reporting that revealed Russ Vought promised donors in a private speech to put civil servants "in trauma," a plan that's clearly already underway.

I wrote about Musk and this bureaucratic coup as plainly as I could. There's reporting in here & the particulars are overwhelming but what's happening is so clear: He's not trying to run the federal govt like a software company He's trying to turn it into a political weapon. (gift link)

For context, this is the same $1.3 billion dollar deal they announced back in December during the Biden presidency. Trump set fire to the US' relationship with both Canada and Mexico in return for literally nothing at all.

Jesuit Priest 👇🏽

“Most have connections to Musk and at least two have connections to Peter Thiel, a cofounder and chairman of the analytics firm and government contractor Palantir”: Akash Bobba Edward Coristine Luke Farritor Gautier Cole Killian Gavin Kliger Ethan Shaotran Contact @wired.com if you know them.

The awful news that Elon Musk clashed with a top Treasury official in an effort to access govt payment systems raises a crucial question: Did Trump authorize this, or not? I talked to former officials who explain why this is a key question, and why it's so alarming: newrepublic.com/article/1910...

So if I’m understanding today correctly, the world’s richest person Elon Musk, whom no one elected, is taking over federal payment systems and employee data while the federal employees who investigate and prosecute public corruption are being fired en masse.
