No Sullivan-Bruins reunion in Boston. 985thesportshub.com/2025/05/02/m...

New Sports Hub Underground podcast: Discussing Mike Sullivan and the Bruins, the stupid Panthers, among other topics. Apple: apple.co/3AICTPR Spotify: spoti.fi/3j5ibDR

Personal news: I don't like the Bruins not making the playoffs because it really highlights how I have no friends, never get invited out by the friends I do have, and no social life without hockey. Anyway, these playoffs? Kinda stinky so far!

The latest vote of confidence from Charlie Jacobs. 985thesportshub.com/2025/04/16/b...

Break-up day is on Thursday, so we'll find out then for sure.

It's an absolute shame that this season from David Pastrnak is going to waste.

Bruins finish year with .354 point percentage on road, which is the 17th-worst road season in team history, and worst since a .317 road point percentage in 1996-97.

Absolutely WILD stat from Liam McHugh on NHL on TNT: This is first time that all four American-based Original Six teams (Boston, Chicago, Detroit, and NY Rangers) have missed the playoffs.

"The same thing that’s plagued us all year plagued us again tonight. It seems like we’re too stubborn to figure it out." 985thesportshub.com/2025/04/10/b...

That's now 13 goals-for in just under 70 minutes on time on ice together for Geekie-Lindholm-Pastrnak. Compare that to Lindholm on the ice for just 24 goals-for in 671 minutes without Pastrnak or Geekie. (These numbers are all 5v5, by the way.)

And since throwing Fabian Lysell back in the lineup, only Patrick Brown has had a lower offensive-zone faceoff rate. Vinni Lettieri has four times as many O-zone faceoffs. I truly don't know the point they're trying to make with a player they drafted knowing he was skill, speed, and offense.

After bumping themselves up (errr, down?) to 6th with a win last night, the Bruins are back to having the 4th-best odds for the No. 1 overall pick with tonight's loss to the Sabres.

Tage Thompson is the first player to record multiple hat tricks against the Bruins in the same season since Buffalo's Drew Stafford did it in 2010-11.

Do you think God stays in heaven because he, too, lives in fear of what he's created here on Earth?

Elias Lindholm makes it 1-0, Bruins. Since the deadline, the Bruins have now scored 17 goals in 202+ minutes with Morgan Geekie and David Pastrnak on the ice. They’ve scored nine goals in 480+ minutes with the Geekie-Pastrnak combo off the ice.

Bruins in Buffalo tonight having lost two straight vs. Sabres. Bruins have not lost three straight against Buffalo since what was a four-game losing streak (0-2-2) vs. Sabres that ran from Dec. 2010 to Mar. 2011.

The first 'DNQ' since 2016. 985thesportshub.com/2025/04/05/b...

Despite the win, the Bruins have been eliminated from playoff contention. Earliest they’ve been eliminated since 2007. (Montreal’s win has made it impossible for Bruins to match the lowest possible point total for wild card 2.)

That was like the combo-breaker of goals for them. On the other end of two of THEIR biggest problems this season: Goals in the final two minutes of a period and goals in quick-strike fashion.

Believe this is the first multi-goal lead the Bruins have had at any point in a game since the win over Tampa on Mar. 8.

This is the first time that the Bruins have been in last place in the Eastern Conference in April since 1997. The Bruins picked No. 1 overall two and a half months later.

Two times now in the opening 4:42 of the second period that the Bruins have been offside on almost completely clean offensive-zone entries.

A four-shot period for the Bruins. They're down 2-0.

Sitting Fabian Lysell in favor of three pending UFAs (two of whom cleared waivers yesterday) and an enforcer with what are essentially free NHL games and with your eyes looking towards 2025-26 is roster malpractice. Just stupid.

Joe Sacco on Charlie McAvoy: “Still no timeline on his return.” McAvoy ditched the non-contact sweater today, and it sounds like once he *is* cleared, he's playing. Clearly wants back in.

Bruins go 0-5-0 on the five-game road trip. Outscored 23-7 over those five games. Bruins now 0-7-1 in their last eight games. Worst eight-game segment since Mar. 1997 (0-7-1).

When I talk about the pride and compete, that Parker Wotherspoon shift is what I’m talking about. Lose every game but give THAT kind of effort and you feel better. Maybe just a me thing, but, yeah.

No flex zone? The curse lives on? Anyway, I almost forgot about the Zadorov-Raymond thing because the NHL only lets you play your divisional opponents two times in four days or two times in four months with zero in between. 985thesportshub.com/2025/03/29/5...

Nikita Zadorov's absence tonight officially dashes hopes of a 'perfect attendance' season for a Bruins defenseman. Hasn't happened since 2016-17, just four times since 2005.

Emotions can run high after a loss like that. But perhaps there's a bit of Zadorov saying "I can handle that stuff... just stop the puck."

Believe it was Fluto who asked it, but someone asked Nikita Zadorov if he appreciated Jeremy Swayman sticking up for Khusnutdinov and trying to fight Kuemper. NZ: "Is that what it is?" Reporter: "It looked like it." NZ: "I don't know. No comment."

Bruins shots on goal last five games: 12, 19, 19, 23, 13. First time in team history the Bruins have had less than 90 total shots on goal in a five-game segment.

So dumb that the refs stopped that. We are DYING for some fun.

Only five players have more goals than Morgan Geekie (24) since Nov. 27: Jake Guentzel (25), Tom Wilson (25), Rickard Rakell (25), David Pastrnak (26), and Leon Draisaitl (33).

I'm pretty sure every shot Swayman faced in that opening 20 would qualify as a Grade-A opportunity.

29.

I can't believe the Bruins got Khusnutdinov PLUS PLUS for Justin Brazeau lol

Two goals and four points in seven games with Boston for Casey Mittelstadt.

I have to imagine he'd be at the top of their list if he's available. I do think there was a slight tell within Sullivan praising Boston during 4 Nations. I don't think he'd hate coming home.

Bruins have just five wins in their last 19 games (5-11-3). Point-wise, it's their worst stretch in a 19-game segment since going 4-12-3 for almost two months in Feb. to Apr. 2006.
