something for the late night freaks: like 6 years ago (?), i got bored and spent a few months making little paper cut-out animations. i don't think this one has ever seen the light of day. youtu.be/yqM5gNsFqqQ?...

#Pittsburgh people--sign on to support the striking Post-Gazette workers, who have been on strike for over 2 FUCKING YEARS. The PG only gets ME back when strikers win. Until then, get your high quality, scab-free PGH reporting by subscribing to the strikers' Pittsburgh Union Progress!

Tobe Hooper's work in the '80s is criminally underrated. I can think of few directors in that era who made such big swings - every single production feels like the filmmaker trying to exorcize a whole new realm from his brain.

huh, kinda forgot that i wrote 21k words last winter of what was sort of shaping up to be a novel

every couple weeks or so, laura & i go to the dvd section of our library, pull up our letterboxd watchlists, set them to shuffle, & rent the first 3 things that come up. it is one of my favorite little rituals, & has been such a good way of seeing stuff that i'd likely never get around to otherwise.

a good week for used physical media that i ordered on the internet and then kind of forgot about and then was happily surprised by when it arrived in the mail.

i was thinking recently about how one of the things that i am most excited for re: my book coming out is how a bunch of people will now read all of the stories that previously appeared in print-only journals (including this story.....plus like half the book!)
