If you're wondering how self-publishing is going, Scurry is one of the best-selling books I've ever put out and I am still around $60 short of breaking even on it lmao

@netflixbrasil.bsky.social curious about the journo hit by the ambulance at 39:20 in episode 3 of the Fred and Rose West doco. Who was he? Thank you!

There is a lot of great stuff out lately ~ more on the wall of eerie eye candy at horror.org/newreleases/ #read #horror

I mistyped RoutineFest instead of PoutineFest in my calendar and it's been the most hilarious notification this week. Can't bring myself to correct it.

New music from ænorex: the Dead Air theme song, "draidea"! This was meant to be in his next album (Vaguely Cultish) but is a single out today for #bandcampfriday. Check it out and share! aenorex.bandcamp.com/album/draidea

We watched Things since I'd never seen it before, then watched The Soultangler since Chris had never seen it before. A bad film crapstravaganza for all. (Things was better)

For independent book store day i shall astral project to @apportusedbooks.bsky.social Hopefully stopping in physically in the fall. Today, we were at the Mammoth Book Sale. #indiebookstoreday

If you're heading to Ottawa's independent bookstore crawl today and would like to pick up a book by me, there should be a few at Perfect Books, The Spaniel's Tale (chance of a signed copy at both), and at Singing Pebble. The Tapestry of Time is at Books on Beechwood, Mill St Books and Octopus Books.

Scurry's got everything. Bugs. Murder. Hot Goths. Wine Moms. You should read it: books2read.com/u/mg6kl7

The Late (night) Edition of new releases from @thehorrorwritersassociation authors! The site was glitchy for the last month at least, so I am just catching up with posting all the eerie eye candy now. These are all pre-March releases so more to come soon! See them all at horror.org/newreleases/

rip Nancy Kilpatrick. I recall you excitedly telling me in an interview about an amazing new print on demand process in 2013 and how it will change publishing.

Today is our dogs 16th birthday. He is too dumb to age so he has no idea.

I dug this like a fresh grave - and you may too. It's a dark, narrow dirge and maybe exactly the sort of focused story I needed. Poetic, sorrowful, and the book that has me wanting to read more LaRocca... I'll be talking about this on the show soon! typicalbooks.com/become_loath...

New interview with Grady Hendrix on the Rue Morgue site, where he had some kind words for Valancourt! rue-morgue.com/exclusive-in...

If you love the bloodsucking undead, consider adding these to your vampiric TBR lists! #horror #horrorbooks #vampire #vampires #vampirebooks 🦇⚰️🩸🧛🏻‍♂️

The wait is almost over. Bandcamp Friday returns Friday, March 7th! On Bandcamp Friday, they waive their revenue share, so every purchase goes straight to the artists. Check out @aenorex.bsky.social and aenorex.bandcamp.com

We are a Can-Am family and seriously apprehensive about the next visit south. I'm considering how publishers operate, and if the books I read employ Canadian pulp and paper people. On the upside, I tried a zeppole today, and it was amazing.

Currently Reading Sonny Boy by Al Pacino.

I may be just a regular canadian lady, but I'm pretty sure Zelenskyy explained his stance on not wearing a suit three years ago. And that was the least of the insults... Today was the most disgusting display from the white house ever.

Absolutely loving this conversation. "Loathsome" is on my list for review soon, and now I am quite eager!

The latest Dead Air is up and we cover the wild 1969 horror, The House That Screamed! creators.spotify.com/pod/show/spl...

I bought a few too many books last month, but the library sale is always worth it... youtube.com/watch?v=dmcK...

The library at my workplace had a lunchtime 'what are you reading' chat so I just had to join... and wow, so many readers of Canadian authors! It was so wonderful to see! I hope they do this more often.

No one asked, but I'd LOVE to see all Canadian news agencies refuse to print images of the US President. The US flag will suffice. Maybe his entire team. Replace their face with the flag, the White House, the Liberty Bell... nice looking things. We don't need to lend to his greed and vanity.

17 new horror books out this month that caught my eye! So many covers feature a black background and bright yellow text. Lithograph or woodcut style is in vogue, as is madness and folk horror. youtube.com/watch?v=CgQZ...

"We have a lot of vampire books on the top shelf, but there are a lot of non-vampire books mixed in. Maybe we should move them out." "I thought maybe if we left them there, they'd turn into vampire books too." "... good point."

Watching the amazing Katherine Ramsland speak from the Ashland Public library this evening, virtually. Encounters with Killers is the talk and The Serial Killer's Apprentice is her latest book. She opens with the case that inspired Jack Ketchum's book The Lost. So excited for this!
