Your mileage may vary, obviously, but unless you actively have a leak or a flat tire (in which case you'll likely notice pretty quick), you really only need to manually check your tires every now and then and you should be okay. No saying you should never fix them, but you can likely put it off.

If you can't afford these right away, tire sensors are generally pretty optional? I haven't had working tire sensors for like 3 years lol.
Plus, you can get a pocket tire sensor for like five bucks and keep it in the dash, so if you suspect one of your tires is low you can just check it!
