However evil you think these people are, there's always more detail

Imagine a magician saws your date in half in front of you. But then the guy next to you scoffs and says “there’s two girls and they squeeze into the boxes. Everyone knows this.” Well, do you? You don’t have to choose between answers when prompted

Community notes are fantastic, interesting, often even funny. But they serve primarily as a counterweight, present a sense you are supposed to choose between it or the post.

If you’re hellbent on learning the truth with the presumption you are dealing with a trickster, don’t use the tools you are handed. Moreover, think about how those tools guide your senses

It’s another possible solve but the other guy is fluent in german which is sort of weird

Your ears did not deceive you, the documentation did not deceive you… you just have to think outside the box to see how the magic trick works

Twitter has a simple epistemology: posts and community notes. To assert Dittman is Musk is probably incorrect, some of the time. But the model assumes some sense of permament “fact”
comment in response to post
“Dittman is proven to be someone else” is weak because its far from the first time more than one person could use one account. The truth is probably weirder: this is a guy who lets him do dollar store hoodwinks to grow his own audience

It just seems like it defeats the purpose- this is a gun you can and reasonably should abandon if used this way

Why do you call it that

During the first Trump term there was a twitter bot that retweeted every dream about Trump for some kind of psychology study. Very curious if a paper came of it

if you kill DEI, programs like H1B, etc. HR gets whittled down to a rubber stamp of whether or not you have the legal papers to work, and at that point it just becomes managerial responsibility. everyone is going to hate this
comment in response to post
fascism is generally concerned with removal of restraints through the fusion of public and private capital to just "get things done," which will probably also apply to internal workplace controls. hatred of HR is universal; what should exist in its place is not so much

and I can hear you saying that's a slippery slope argument, but I don't think it is, that's the bait. everyone who says "they should come in the right way" doesn't know what that means. challenge them on how they would come to the US like their ancestors, which kind of visa, no answers are possible
comment in response to post
what do you do then, kill HR itself? it sounds nice on face. but the right wing alternative to HR is no intermediary and your manager just tells you to go wherever home is, and the paperwork to bring on a foreign worker becomes another unseen stack of paper at USCIS

"you can't eat your cake and have it too," so to speak. you can't both impose yourself as the anglo-american ruling class and remove the forces that make you the ruler, you have deceived yourself that you are not the ruler, your only choice is to gut your own internal power structures

H1B is a generally racist program to begin with... abolishing it is the natural anti-immigration move if its all vibes... there is no correct signal for whose side you are on. So then the conversation gets reframed to "secret HR ethnic mafias in tech" which... nepotism has always been legal man

And think about how few weeks you have before this will need to be your default mode of thinking about your friends

Think on it. Who wants you making him into a killer? Who has anything to gain from a political body celebrating a crime instead of assuming innocence? If you want to protect him start from the possibility he didn’t do it

The longer I stare at it the more duped I feel… even if he’s a guy I would never have gotten along with, its clear how and why he was useful to greater demons

one must ask if the lionizing as a revolutionary hero betrays something else- keeping normally sympathetic people from defending an innocent man, who was on the run from his family with a very clear and vivid line of evidence to that effect
