"Grocery workers vs Goliath" - After blocking the biggest grocery merger in US history, UFCW locals from the Cascades to the Rockies continue working closely together to win a fair contract for the 130K union grocery workers who will see contracts expire this year. inthesetimes.com/article/groc...

Members of UFCW 3000, join us for a training on suicide prevention. Solidarity is mutual aid in action!

Only 1 WEEK LEFT to vote in REI's Board of Directors election! We must send REI the message that we demand to see a change away from corporate leadership. Head to REI.com/board-vote to vote "WITHHOLD" on all of REI's corporate candidates.

Take collective action when bargaining your contract or solving problems on the shop floor. You never know what will shake loose! #solidarity

REI Bellingham employee and Co-Op member Sue says REI leadership can't get away with their endorsement of Doug Burgum, even after an apology. There's only 9 days left to vote WITHHOLD in REI's Board of Directors election. Head to REI.com/board-vote to block REI's candidates before May 1!

“They are proposing to give us less in wage increases than Colorado, California, Spokane, Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon—they must be joking, right?” — Princetta Woodhouse, Redondo Fred Meyer

Seattle Children’s Hospital has yet again halted gender affirming surgeries. In response, our union delivered a petition led by Seattle Children’s technical workers and signed by more than 2,200 members of the community demanding an immediate reversal of this decision.

All the best people will be there!

Thanks to the hard work of growers, UFCW 3000 members, & the lawmakers who supported our bill to grant cannabis agricultural workers the right to organize now heads to the governor's desk. These workers will finally get the chance to bring fairness to the cannabis industry.

Our union always marches on May Day, but this year feels different. The federal govt has launched an all-out assault on working people and on our First Amendment rights. As we fight back now, we must advance a platform that wins a future where workers can live, fully engage, and prosper. Join us:

Some good news today: 10 national unions are jointly demanding the release of immigrant workers detained by ICE, in what could be a prelude to more coordinated and direct action. labornotes.org/blogs/2025/0...

The labor movement is standing up to the Trump administration's outrageous attacks on free speech, immigrant workers and students, and unions. Join us!

On Thursday April 3, our union members grabbed bullhorns, hoisted up informational picket signs, and marched outside of Fred Meyers and QFCs across Puget Sound to fight for better wages, better staffing, and better stores. We also had a clear message when each picket ended, "We'll be back!"

🚨Action alert!🚨 we want to build worker power by passing ESHB 1141, which would allow cannabis agricultural workers to organize. As expected, big business is rallying to crush us. Help workers win this fight by signing in PRO on ESHB 1141 before 5 pm today. app.leg.wa.gov/csi/Testifie...

We have been fighting for working people for 125 years. Click on the link to check out a timeline of our union's union's victories going back to 1900, and learn more about how we plan to win the future!

We're calling on all REI Co-Op members to fight back against REI's union busting and anti-environment behavior by voting WITHHOLD in the Board of Directors election! Head to VoteNoREI.com to vote and show REI that you demand change!

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone to help. Join us April 30, at 6pm for this virtual training.

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to honor the lives and legacies of trans & nonbinary people. Trans people have always been here, & they have always been a part of us. Others might try to erase and silence them, but we are here to say an injury to one is an injury to all.

When employers try to get take away our livelihood, union member will take action. #solidarity

At 5:30 pm today, March 27, our union will join labor and community organizations in a demonstration at the NW Detention Center to protest the detention of longtime labor leader Alfredo “Lelo” Juarez and SEIU 925 UW lab tech Lewelyn Dixon.

This is a gross violation of all of our rights to due process and the right to remain silent: "Alvaro Juarez said his brother was exercising his right to remain silent when pulled over by ICE agents who then smashed his window and pulled him from the car as his wife watched in horror."

By targeting workers like Lelo—and, reportedly, a union lab tech at the University of Washington—the Trump administration clearly aims to terrorize immigrant workers no matter how they came to this country.

Have you voted against REI's corporate slate in the Board of Directors election yet? It only takes a couple minutes! Here's a step-by-step guide on how Co-Op members can vote NO today. Head to VoteNoREI.com to learn more.

Unlike every other worker in the cannabis industry, the workers who actually grow the plant cannot organize their workplaces. Let's make this right. Sign in PRO on ESHB 1141. app.leg.wa.gov/csi/Testifie...

Climate change affects every part of lives, at work and at home. UFCW 3000 members have formed the Climate Justice Advisory Board to make sure worker needs are addressed. ufcw3000.org/news/2024/2/...

Sign in PRO on ESHB 1141 to level the playing field for ALL Cannabis workers! app.leg.wa.gov/csi/Testifie...

Self-checkout machines don’t automate anything. Like banks replacing tellers with ATMs, this “fauxtomation” simply masks a transfer of paid labor to unpaid labor. In our case, grocery companies shifted work from one paid cashier to thousands of volunteer cashiers—namely, customers.

If you work for a living and have a boss, then you should take this online course!

What's disgusting? Union busting! And REI filling its Board with cherry-picked corporate candidates. We need all Co-Op members to vote against REI's corporate slate in the current Board of Directors election. Head to VoteNoREI.com to learn how to vote NO before the polls close.

This isn’t a TV show. FTC commissioners do serious work. They took action when workers stood up to block the proposed merger between Kroger and Albertsons, halting a near monopoly on groceries. Trump’s decision to fire them is illegal, so they should simply ignore him. ufcw3000.org/news/2025/3/...

So much solidarity at picket captain training this weekend! We are proud to have Teamsters 38 in our coalition. 💖to UFCW 7 members from Denver for sharing their experience striking Kroger for unfair labor practices. We all stand united for better staffing and better stores!

Our union denounces this flagrant attack on immigrants and on the bedrock constitutional rights of due process, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly.

Believe it or not, REI Co-Op endorsed Trump’s big oil billionaire pick for the Secretary of the Interior. That’s why all REI members need to take back our Co-Op by voting NO in the Board of Directors election and reject REI’s slate of corporate candidates. Head to VoteNoREI.com to learn more!

Grocery store workers at Seattle's Pine Hurst Safeway are taking action to get management to provide a safer store for themselves & customers after a series of armed robberies. Our union worker bargaining committee is also bring-up safety during negotiations for Puget Sound workers.

Congratulations to workers at Seattle's Recovery Cafe who won their union election!

A new proposal to allow cannabis agricultural workers to collectively bargain under WA state law passed the House! Let’s maintain the momentum as we head to the state Senate. Call the legislative hotline at 800-562-6000 and tell your state Senator to support HB 1141, or send them an email.

Baristas + allies in Seattle are DONE WAITING for Starbucks to do the right thing. We're taking matters into our own hands - we're demanding fair contracts for workers NOW. #ToBeAPartner

During the most recent bargaining session Kroger’s Bean counters proposed bringing an outside vendor into our stores for their cut fruit problem. The practice of outsourcing has a troubling history of eliminating jobs, lowering standards, and increasing problems with safety.

Re-upping this post as it is International Women’s Day and the Puget Sound Grocery Store Contracts are once again opened for bargaining. Most of these women are still directly involved in this fight.

The Trump Administration’s decision to nuke its contract with TSA agents is a direct attack on unions and all democratic institutions. In response, our union stands ready to boycott air travel and honor any work stoppages initiated by our siblings in the TSA. ufcw3000.org/news/2025/3/...

We are joining one of our community allies in Olympia on March 14th to fight for rent stabilization and housing justice! Find out more and RSVP at the link below.
