UKLTA runs sci-fi/modern/horror themed LARP. There's the usual mix of role-playing, investigation and puzzle solving but we use outdoor Laser-Tag equipment to simulate ranged combat so you can have tactical gunfights that just work. https://linktr.ee/uklta

They are broadly inspired by events in the movie Prometheus where human corruption and self-interest lead to conflict over which faction of Humanity will be at the forefront in dealing with Intelligent Extra-terrestrials (the 'Engineers') that might seem like Gods to us.

These games focus on First Contact in the UKLTA's High Frontier shared Universe which is set in the worlds of the “Alien”, “Predator” and other film franchises. We have a shared background incorporating these movies and TV series that share common themes and imagery to add depth and variety.

"A surprising meeting sets off a desperate race with the prize being the greatest secret in the universe.
You may have implemented The Goodman Protocol, you may be on the brink of achieving The Drake Objective, but it’s always dangerous to forget about: The Weyland Factor"

Sadly currently sold out for player spaces; more will be opened up once more crew to commit to the event. We'd love you to come and crew, it'll give you a taste of our play style and depending on the roles you take you may get almost as much play as crew as you do as a player.

Player characters will mostly be Imperial Guard, from various regiments, but can also include Tech Priest, Psyker, Navigator, Commissar, Rogue Trader, Adeptus Arbites, Ecclesiatical Priest, Adepta Sororitas, and of course the Inquisitor.
There will be no player Space Marine characters!

There will be a mix of problem solving and tactical ranged combat using the UKLTA's safe and proven outdoor Laser-Tag technology. While there will be some LARP-safe weapons in the game, it is mostly non-contact. There are very few LARP 'calls' as the Laser-Tag tech handles counting hits and so on.

This LARP is primarily PvE (Player vs Environment) as opposed to PvP (Player vs Player), not to say there won’t be some inter-group strife to resolve but the game is written to be primarily collaborative. We will have a dedicated crew to provide opposition and sundry non-player characters.

In common with most UKLTA events this will be an 'open world' LARP where the players are presented with a situation once in the play area and left to work through it organically. We do not run rigidly structured 'linears', the players may freely move about and the game and crew will adapt to them.

"Several Imperial Guard units are recovering and retraining on the Agri World ‘Trebatha’.
The local Planetary Defence Force are few and poorly trained and wary of the ‘professional’ Imperial Guard.
An Inquisitor comes to visit from the ‘Ordo Hereticus’.
Everyone understandably is on edge."

Information about all our games can be found on our website linked from the store. We're a long established club but actively looking to fit new people in, providing loan Laser-Tag equipment to them. Dropzone makes a great introduction to what we do.

Sunday afternoon & evening we finish with "Cyberpunk: A Life on the Edge game #7". Our ongoing 'campaign' in the dystopian dark future riffing on the computer and tabletop game with some new elements. This is 'linear' based with Patron NPCs dispensing 'jobs' so new players can be fitted in easily.

Sunday Morning draws a three part action military/science adventure in the Stargate SG1 universe to a close with "Stargate: The Planet of Ptah". Again new players are welcome; all our short games might have some ongoing story but no 'character progression'.

Saturday Evening we have more British civil service & military bureaucracy meets the occult, inspired by the Laundry Files works of Charles Stross. In "The Crows of Blake Farm" you've been called in to find some children missing in the woods. Nothing suspicious about that at all, nope.

In the Friday Evening slot is "Risk: The Fight for World Domination". As we're never sure what time people will arrive we a run light-hearted team skirmishing game instead of LARP. Expect glowsticks, running around in the dusk and ambushes.

After a very productive day we ended up with twelve Pulse Rifles all working. There's a base coat of black on them but they're going to get a little filler then be masked up for some contrasting green and brown paint in a few areas.

All our events occur on private land, away from the public on a site commonly used for Airsoft and the Police will be informed of our activities in advance so you should have no concerns about the use of RIFs (realistic imitation firearms) like these at them.

For sidearms, one of our members designed these Babylon 5 PPG replicas, which are astonishingly effective and compact. There are lots available, making them the most common of our #Lasertag sidearms and most likely to be loaned out to players not carrying a Pulse Ranger.

The Pulse Rangers are old but tough, made of thick vacuum formed PVC shells and with modern electronics in as good as anything else you'll see at one of our events. Vaguely modelled after the famous Pulse Rifle from #Aliens, post refurb they should all have the classic LED ammo counter as well!

While this is the concluding episode, each one is written mostly standalone and we have no in-game character advancement so new players are welcome. Bookings will open in January 2025.
