If you are fortunate enough to live to a certain age, the losses you must endure and absorb into the fabric of your being start to add up. Each loss feels heavier than the one before, and at some point, you realize you are always moments away from weeping at the ever-present weight of absence.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

It’s good to love mathematics and also makeup. It’s good to read the classics and watch Muppet movies. It’s good to see Shakespeare plays and collect graphic novels. It’s good to be curious about the world and open to new things without self-imposed limitations.

#Booksky #Bookclub I’ve been completely absorbed by this book - a very beautiful but densely written saga of an Egyptian family at the end of WW1. Definitely need recovery time before reading the rest of the trilogy.
