Full list is here: letterboxd.com/uncutrobcast... There might be shockingly few female directors, but honestly, that's not really on me it's more on the industry being stacked against anyone other than well off white dudes with connections.

CASTING! The role of Nia is reopened to be more open ended, for more people. All the other roles are casting in process, the female lead however is being put back out. More details for the female lead here: castingcallback.com/job/20058/re... www.mandy.com/aa/project/2...

And I edited. Otherwise, I have no idea what is going on in this podcast, I really should start watching this show. Yes, I've never seen a single moment of Lost before.

A sufficiently cursed episode for your listening pleasure this week. Me and Ygraine chat Korean Revenge Thrillers. Listen & Subscribe here: open.spotify.com/episode/6HG8... Also, if you do enjoy, give the show a star rating - they really do matter.

I'm on my way home from an interview (it went well), and on the coach home, i'd say about 80% (of a very full vehicle) have their headphones in. On account of the single most annoying three people, who I can only describe as bantersaurus rex - with a laugh from the 7th circle of hell.

I like the work of Ken Russell, but it would be silly to say that anything other other than that was his masterpiece. It's also no small wonder why it's so hard to find, it doesn't exactly holds its tongue with its opinion on organised religion.

#nw the devils. It's for an upcoming episode. A transgressive, we are all going to hell special. Well, that depends on who you ask. But. If you ask me, two thirds have been on my watchlist for far, far too long. That and introducing a new voice to the podcast are the motivation to this one.

From 460 unread emails (which is hell for someone who likes order in my communication channels) to 41. I've finally conquered Slamdance. I don't think I'll be doing this festival again. It unleashes utter carnage on my emails and it's bloody hell.

I really love these posts of Jimmy's where he discovers a new director. It's real pleasure of being an editor. Also, give Jimmy a follow.

I'm going to get it in the neck again aren't I? As the one or about four people in the town who really doesn't like Everything, Everywhere All At Once.

It wouldn't be an independent film production if one role posed problems at a casting level. And check, got that, may have to do a gentle rewrite for this one. And do a lightning round casting for this one.

And I edited. Otherwise, I have no idea what is going on in this podcast, I really should start watching this show. Yes, I've never seen a single moment of Lost before.

ICYMI, the podcast returned last Sunday to talk about Mike Flanagan. If you haven't listened, why not?

The Monkey is a movie that I really want to see, but it and the rest of the noteworthy movies from the first half of 2025 will have to wait until their VOD release. The only local cinema is exclusively shows blockbusters and half term fare. You don't know what you have until cineworld fuck it up.

My recent appearance on my sister podcast talking about David Lynch and Lost Highway. Give it a watch, here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uupt...

While I'm sat going through emails, I'm listen through the dark ambient section of bandcamp for artists I can get in touch with regarding the short film I am in pre-production for. I like this style of droning nightmare fuel mascarading as music so its all good.

The alt text in my thread of favourite directors has some commentary. Like how my favourite Argento movie is Inferno, and I prefer the remake of Suspiria to his original. Yeah, I'm one of those. And, it's weird that I dislike Suspiria so when his Inferno is structurally the same movie.

The conflict of taking the compliment from a 80-something couple with a grandparent vibe that you no longer have in your life, when they say you have lost a lot of weight off your stomach is real. Is it a nice compliment or is it stepping over the mark. Welcome to my brain, I guess.

#nw for a podcast, with long time collaborator and friend, Graham. The podcast is pop screen. The movie has a title whose name has an evergreen relevance. I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017). I remember a creased double funny gag at the end. Time will tell if it still gets me.
