I'm often up before sunrise on the weekdays. While I make my morning coffee, I like to leave the lights dim and play atmospheric music so I can pretend I'm in a noir movie, slasher, or cyberpunk thriller. This moment is always destroyed by my cats wrestling with each other under the dining table.

View from my balcony this morning. Initially, I thought it was a cloud, but as it got brighter, I realized it was the smoke from the Eaton fire. I couldn't help but notice that it looked like a great demon had risen from Glendale. Writer brain does weird things to your pattern recognition.
