Most of the software I’m interested in making either has no business case, or it is rooted in my desire to dismantle some of the weird dogmatism I keep encountering on the job. In both cases, likely no one would ever pay me to make it, and this makes me sad.

I’m not religious. I used to be, but not anymore. Now I’m “optimistically nihilistic”, and let me tell you, that does *not* help one bit, when your kids start expressing existential dread at the age of 5. “Death isn’t bad for *you*. Only others suffer, when you die” wasn’t exactly a reassurance. 😬
