What if it was just George Lucas again?

The movie Better Man was a pretty good metaphor for it's subject in that it tries really hard to be edgy, important, and above all else, entertaining, and you gotta admit it succeeds at that last thing.

James Bond is already a perfect franchise. It has a consistent formula that they rarely mess with for 60 years and the only thing they change is the cast and tone which all franchises do. Not sure what more a franchisee could want from it.

Look, I was always woke. I remember what it was like being ignorant of queerness. But I don't get people who have accepted gay people existing but draw the line at other sexualities. That should be like knowing what a hamburger is and being shocked and awed by the existence of the cheeseburger.

I don't really get these kinds of posts because there's not really anyone it's for. The people who hate these movies (which to be clear I am one of) are already avoiding them. And the people who are live in a completely different world.

I think a lot about how taboo informs what we do or do not consider "imagery" in art. Like, I think imagery is one of those things like politics, where it technically includes everything, but is only applied in certain contexts and makes the contexts where it isn't interesting.

Sometimes I'll just make thumbnail graphics for YouTube videos that don't exist.

Related, I watched The Substance recently and I like how it was also a movie made by a French person that clearly doesn't know much about the country the film takes place in. But in a charming way.

Right? All the problematic discourse really undersells just how bad Emilia Perez is just as a film.

Most? I'm pretty sensitive.
